On the first race I was in the far right lane and he was in the center lane. There was already another car in the left lane. Sometimes there are cars parked in the right lane. Not really sure if the Cavalier was a 4 or 6 banger I left it in auto and thought I just pass him and be on my way. But when the light turned green he floored it so I just mashed the pedal off the line. He was half a car length behind me by the time I was up to 80km. I didn't have it floored all the way up to 80km. The street is bumpy, curvy, and narrow. Not wanting to chance wrecking my TL I let him pass. I swung behind him to take position in the left lane for the next light. I think he thought he beat me in his POS Cavalier.

I rolled up next to him at the next red light. This time I was ready for him. The road was straight and wide here. Good visibility ahead. No worries of hitting parked cars. Perfect for a drag. I snapped the shifter into Sport Shift. When the light went green I floored it and let the SS take the 1st shift from 1st to 2nd gear at redline. Man the sound of VTEC is sooooo sweet. I had him all the way. I was at least a good half car length ahead of him by the time we got to the other side of the intersection. Then 2nd to 3rd at 5000 or so. By the time I hit 100km (60 miles) I was a couple car lenghts ahead of him. After hitting 110km I slowed back down to cruising speed. Man he got his Cavalier ass smoked.

He turned off the next intersection and didn't even look at me.

What a blast!
Awesome story, and congrats on your win!! But there is no six cylinder Cavalier. They only come in 4 bangers. Yes they do suck!!!

Come to think of it I think it was the previous generation of Cavalier. It had the boxy body. Wasn't the current body redesigned in '95??? I think they came with the option 6 banger. Sorry guys, I don't know my Chevs too well.

Cavalier sucks! That's why you're not driving one.

Nice kill regardless. Is your TL modded? I haven't seen any in Vancouver that are modded or slammed.

My TL is totally stock for now. The only thing I like to change are the tires when the Michelins wear out. Maybe go to 225/55/16 tires.

I just hate people who block the left passing lane ya know.
