Tonight when I went to my car after being parked for a while, I had to push the button a few times for the doors to unlock. Then when I got home, I had to push the button a million times for it to lock. It's not the transmitter because the batteries are good, and I tried the other spare, which is pretty much brand new. The same thing happened with that one.

Finally, about an hour later, it worked again fine. And it works as good as new still.

Anyone ever experience this? Or know what's wrong?

PS. I can't even take it to a dealer because the problem appears to be VERY intermittent. This was the first time it hapepened to me and it's fine now.

 

If the car is still under warranty, insist that they replace the alarm anyway.

 

I have the same problem with my key fob for my Accord. Certain areas at certain times they just dont work and you have to break down and ulock with your key. Remember when we had to do that?

BTW fellow members, I just bought the Anthrocite 2002 TL on saturday, after debating between it and the TLS. I know a lot of you would buy the TLS over the TL, but for the money and the extra you get, the TLS was not worth the extra $4000.00 Canadian. I can hardly wait for it.

 

the antenna for the factory remote is on the passenger side of the car right next to the glove box so take that into consideration....it is kinda a weak range though!

 

Since remotes of this sort do not require the operator to have a license to use them they are required by the FCC to accept any interference and may also not cause any interference when used.As such you may have had interference when you tried to use them which will interrupt the way they work.If it persists it may be possible that the system requires attention from your dealer.If it was just a one time incident chances are you were simply getting a bad signal from another radio source close in frequency to your transmitter.Jens

 

Same thing happened to me about 2 weeks after I purchased my 2002 TLS. Lock would not work. I got the second set of keys and same thing. Left it in the garage overnight and next morning it worked fine. Has now been 2 months. No further occurrence.

It happen to me too...
Also I wanted to press LOCK button several times to make sure it locks but sometimes I can't hear "beep" sound either....

 

it might be interference with other radio/ or what ever signals around the area. There is a particular spot around skydome (in toronto) where my key fob just don;t work. Just take that into consideration.

I have noticed that the range on my TL key fob is the worst of any I have owned. You have to be close to the car and it seems on one side or the other.

There are a few places where my key fob for my Isuzu Rodeo will not work at all! For example when I am in certain areas in downtown KC the key fob just will not work.

The same thing happened to me. I was at a sushi restaurant, and the key fob simply would not work. It was probably outside interference, as it worked 5 minutes later at a different location.

 

been there. it really doesnt have any range at all.....and sometime you push the lok button does not lock or unlock.
