Key beeping

A recent problem emerge in my 2002 TL. When I remove the key, the indicator chime that beeps when the key is in the ignition continues to chime. the problem with this is that I guess the car thinks the key is still in the ignition and won't allow the keyless entry system to work. Any idea of what it is and how much is going to cost to fix? can I reset something or what. Please help is very annoying

if you have a 2002 TL, you should still be under warranty. go back to the dealer and have them fix it.

are you sure it's not the indicator that tells you that you left your headlights on?

I wouldn't put oil in the lock--use graphite instead. (Dry lubricant made specifically for locks--comes in small tubes, it's a black powder, costs maybe a dollar at a key/lock shop).

does it go away when you close the door? If not, just take it to the dealer and let them fix it. It could be the key cylinder sticking. you dont want that piece to get screwy with you. If that gets fucked you are not going anywhere.

I tried the graphite and it did not work. I really don't feel like grabbing my ankles at the dealer. I called and talked to the service rep and he was just like bring it in. I had an accord before and I know that the honda/acura dealers love those 75 diagnostic fees plus the labor. is there anyway that I can fix it. the dealer is really the last resort in the matter. any idea how much they may charge to fix that, bigman?

is the car key on a ring with a LOT of other keys and what-nots??? if so, how long has it been like that. the cylinder is probably out of whack and something is touching together that simulates a key being in the ignition. i remember my bro's key for his camry. after many many years of driving the car, the tip of the key started to look like a knife blade!!!
