Question jacking the car up

I want to jack up the car so I can inspect under the engine and drive shafts. However, I noticed there is no area looks strong enough as jacking point. I saw a little hump on the front beam in the middle below the radiator. Do you guys think that's strong enough to support it? Thanks for your input.

not worth the risk to try it. Just go to a garage or get some ramps and drive up them so you can look under it.

There's 4 jack points on the car; I use them all the time. They are pretty much in-line (under car) with the front door hinges and the rear door handles. Check the manual.

If you are referring to the hump in dead center with 2 little hole in it, that's the front jack point. That's what I use to jack up the front for a quick lookaround. BUT don't go under the car with just the jack. Slip a couple of jack stands under the jack points that are behind the front wheels first.

I just want to make sure of the exact spot you guys are talking about. This part you describe;
"I saw a little hump on the front beam in the middle below the radiator."

Use the subframe/k member whatever which is the heavy frame right below the motor, not below the radiator. It's basically the given/standard spot to raise the front.

I was just making sure, don't mind me.

And for sure use jacking stands!! Never go under with just a jack!

I personally use ramps for anything under that doesn't involve the suspension

I dont think I would make it up ramps without my drop let alone with it. same goes for my dads S70. I can rarely use my jacks nowadays.

I always used the jackpoints or suspension to jack up my car and then use the jackstands. I need to check the spot you mentioned tomorrow morning.

The mechanic I used to use before I got my TL would let me do it even though he gets nothing out of it. He would even help me diagnose problems so I could go to Acura to complain.

Whoa huh?

Thanks guys. Just want to make sure. So the hump with 2 little holes is the point to jack, right?

My philosophy is never crawl underneath a jacked up car, not even with jack stands in place. Not on ramps or not even on a lift.

You couldn't pay me to get underneath a car, there's absolutely nothing underneath it that I just have to see that bad.

When kensteele dies, you can bet it wasn't from some freak accident car falling on him crushing his head and spine.

I agree with Kensteele.....NEVER go under a car that isn't protected with solid jackstands..Also, like Severin said , there are 4 jack points, on all 4 corners of the car..use those...unless you kow what you're doing, do not try to be a hero and jack the car in any other spot that you aren't sure about..

Pls someone advise what the danger is with using proper ramps. I use these ramps i got from Canadian Tire that is made of recycled tires. They're heavy non-slip/skid mofos made just for this.
