J32A1 and J32A2 interchangeable parts

Hey, I have an 03 TLP with the A1 engine, I would figure the A2 cams are interchangeable with our engines, correct? I've already planned the A2 IM swap, and I just want to make sure is while I'm doing my valve covers when I do them, if I can swap the cams.

I also have the type s cluster on my TLP cluster board (I'll write up the swap if anyone wants me to, no soldering or anything). So I was curious is I could raise the red line to 7000 without doing any damage to the engine, seeing as everything is the same on the two engines, with the exception of the aforementioned. Currently, I slam the limiter at 6700.

I'm curios on how you can Redline the J32A1 in the TL-p (AUTO) with the ECU in place starting limiter of 5900RPM, The maximum redline available is 6100-200RPM for the TL-p.

Without the ECU you wont be rising the red line any day and Adding the TL-S ECU to the TL-p is a PITA with the wiring. You can add the whole J32A2 and you will still have the before mentioned TL-p Redline because its ECU controlled.

In gear, manually shifting, the Rev limiter is 6700 for me. Park limiter is 5200, and in auto mode it shifts at 6500 when I'm wide open. What other is there with the TLS ECU? I'd figure it'd be pnp since it's the same car, just different engine components.

Other than that, tuning the car would be an option, I would think? I had a 93 Eclipse with an Evo 9 swap that I had the limiter set at 11,200.

Awww silly me! I was thinking of the J32A.. J32A1 does have a little bit higher redline at 6300 to 6500RPM.

Sadly our ECUs aren't tunable you will need a standalone.
And referring to the TL-S ECU! remember that those come with VSA! you will need the whole bits and parts of VSA so you wont get stuck in Limp Mode which limits the whole car to 5000RPM.

Those 2 cars are in a completely different category than that of a TL.

^ It wouldn't matter much though..
Having our Js do 11,000RPM would require a gargantuous amount of money.

Oh I know, I was giving an example of tuning. We need a standalone EMS to tune our cars? That involves rewiring of everything, correct?

I forgot about VSA. Hahahaha, so the cheaper and much less time consuming alternative is to just do the swap out of the type s? If that's easier, I'll just go 6mt while I'm at it.

But with that, which is better, the UA6 J35 or our J32? Which can stand more? And which is less costly?

You want a type-s motor, buy a used one (or even better a J35A3 which is basically a 3.5 type-s motor. It would make more power and be cheaper than trying to add parts to your A1 to get to the type-s levels. Used ones can be found all day for 3-600 bucks. Get the type-s ecu and have the dealer program your key to the immobilizer.

Yes, the only way to tune these things are a stanalone.

But the A8 makes more power, what's the difference? Mounts? I did read somewhere that you can use a J35A3 block with J32A2 heads, is this true?

Oh and purely out of curiosity, what are the components of VSA? On our cars, at least.

And with what you're saying, I can get a J35A3 and the TLS ECU will be complete pnp to that harness? If I've read correctly, the 6mt also bolts up to that motor, correct? Or would I need a UA6 TL 6mt?
