Headlight Question

So I'm thinking of replacing my factory D2R bulbs with some Sylvania Xenarc or Xenarc cool blues. Anyone know if these will plug into my factory assembly? Not completely sure and don't want to spend $170 on headlights for nothing!
Thanks!

are they HID bulbs?
if not
they will NOT work, we have HID system which will blow up the `normal type cars` 12 volt bulbs with a 20,000 volt blast to ignite them = ooops
got to have the right parts for the TL~

if you have problems the best thing is replace the factory stuff with aftermarket = modern parts for as low as 60 bucks for both sides, bulbs ballast igniters, awesome deal! that's everything needed to remove the stock low beam parts and install new ones in their place,
The parts are sold as a `conversion kit` but don't worry- we don't need any relays or other bits, because its a straight swap = dead hid parts for good ones, so we have all that stuff already

ck www,hidextra.com look up by car, suggest their standard size35 watt ballast and 5000K color bulbs
try coupon code newfb for 10% off bringing price down to 60 USD
another trusted brand is morimoto
if you scroll down the thread list there are many low beam failure threads, those will have more suggestions on where to buy
depends on your budget, I and many here are happy with the 60 buck specials,,work fine for years
It is a easy diy, just sounds difficult

Note we have a major problem with moisture getting in the light housing, then it drips out the bottom drain hole onto the ballast - which fries it
not to mention the stock parts are about 15 years old now....

if your housings leak you can reseal them or get new ones for ~150$
some silicone or flex seal type material works great

^ Those are HID Bulbs:
Amazon.com: OSRAM Sylvania XENARC D2R 66050 Xenon HID Bulb, Pack of 2: Automotive Amazon.com: OSRAM Sylvania XENARC D2R 66050 Xenon HID Bulb, Pack of 2: Automotive

Amazon.com: OSRAM - Cool Blue Intense Xenarc D2R (Single): Automotive Amazon.com: OSRAM - Cool Blue Intense Xenarc D2R (Single): Automotive

And to OP yes they will fit plug & play, Both of them.
IMO go with the "Cool Blues" as they are 5000K (NOT BLUE AT ALL).

I realized for the price it must be hid bulbs after I hit send DOH!
BUT
the reality of life is our systems are failing and just new bulbs wont fix it!

Sure if they died on age- pink tint at startup of light, BUT
more are going from ballast/igniter failure/moisture issue! In my opinion~

for the price of bulbs in some places, you can get an entire kit and be assured of seeing the road better

Not age

No there not that old. But the people I had bought the car from replaced the ballasts and everything already with another OEM set from Acura, they just put these 12k retarded lights in there. Stupid color, IMO, I like the cool blue tint to the stock headlights. But I was Researching The OSRAMS, and man, there expensive. But well worth the price, really bright!👌👍

But I wouldn't trust buying them from EBay/Amazon. I'm buying direct from the Sylvania OSRAM site. Thanks for letting me know there plug and play!

The good thing about buying real D2R Bulbs (As in the ones with the Ceramic Shield) is that you wont be blinding any oncoming traffic with nasty glare! But that price-tag is scary for such politeness...
You can literally buy the same KV rating for 20 bucks a pair on Ebay with Lifetime Guarantee, The only CON would be some glare.

K is the kelvin color scale, 5000K is a great color to see with, stock was 4300

Lumens is the measure of light/brightness coming from the bulbs
900-1200 is average and hard to increase
