its my turn on the tranny now.
i was stoping at a stop sign, waiting for my turn to go, but when i gased, the engine responded, but the car sat still as if i was in neutral, then it jerked in gear,
i was expecting this to happen, during christmas, i noticed that if i floor the gas pedal all the way the rpm shoots up about 4-500 rpm over into redline while shifting from 2nd to 3rd,
dropped it off at acura of tustin, and they got Enterpise to lend me a fawken toyota echo,
they told me this new tranny is being shipped out, its been out for 4 month or so, has any one had this in their car? hows the shiftinh? is it smoother ? does it still seem like its ganna fail?
btw the car is a 2001, with 40600 miles

What do we call it here.... oh yes... "The Disgruntled Tranny Club." Well welcome to it! I'm really sorry it happens to everyone like this, but Acura should replace it without a problem. I'm so happy I have my 4 speed 99.... keep us updated!

Yeah thats the tell-tale sign of the dead tranny. Enterprise is making a fortune off Acura over this because my dealer in NY also gets the loaners through enterprise and i would suspect Acura has a national account with them. the loaners have 150miles per day free otherwise it starts costing Acura even more for the car, so go wild, go for a long drive. Drive your friends all over town. Take a long day trip up the pacific coast highway. Drive from Maine down to FL for the weekend.. Since you are not responsible for the car expenses, you might also want to stick it to Acura and return the car with an empty tank of gas so they also have to pay the $4.00/gallon refill charge too. Acura deserves a little abuse.....

I scored a Kia Optima from Hertz while mine is being replaced (supposed to get the car back today)....I've been driving ALL OVER Phoenix....bloody fuel efficient little thing....I've only used half the tank of gas...
Hertz was conveniently located in the back parking lot of the Acura dealer...they shuttled me there in a golf cart....

You will enjoy the replacement tranny because they also replace the ECU at the same time. The shift points are better with the reprogrammed ECU and the 1/2 sec or so delay in SS between 2nd and 3rd that was part of the original ECU programming is gone.

Excellent news, I'm anxious to get a feel for it. I really hated that SS delay in shifting gears.....I never realized it until I got a loaner RSX during an oil change and realized how quick the shifting was.
Heck, even the Kia's SS shifts faster! but hopefully not for long
