Issue with foglight mod

Well today we did the foglight mod using the instructions on the DIY thread. and it works great, but the only problem is, i leave my lights on and once it shuts off automatically i tried to lock the car and the all the lights came on and the HIDs started to flicker and then it shut off. before this mod only the corner lamps flashed. sorry if my discription isnt very good. is there a solution to make the HID flickering stop, it doesnt seem too safe for the lights to flicker like that

I did the same mod as you. Only I have the stock bulbs for now. There are two ways to do the mod. I used the stripping of the 2 wires and taping together method. This method, if you leave the fog switch on, causes the foglights to flash with the sidemarkers when arming the alarm. The other way is to use an add a circuit, by running a wire to the fusebox. Don't know if this method prevents the fogs to flash, though.

Why don't you just shut the lights off so they don't do that?

Follow the alternative fog mod..the one with the add a circuit that allows u to turn them on without corners. Works great for me and added safety with fuse..that way u don't mess up the electrical system. No headlight flashing (which if you continue to let ur car do, it will eff up the ballast/ignitor and then have fun with repair) or any other probs.

if your fog lights flick when you arm your car, its because you left the fog light button to the on position. mine do the same thing. So when you leave your car with them on, either arm your car within the time period where the lights are still on (they won't flicker) or turn the fog switch to the off position if your going to be arming your car after that time period.

Post #32. Follow every step and ignore part bout taping up the wires unless you messed with them which it sounds like you did. But def use a wire tap (blue palstic in pic 10 and 11) makes it much easier/safer.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT start the car without having the fog button and harness back in place becuz your gonna get the SRS light and you have to reset it and its a an extra step that is unecessary...trust me i know...
