hey, did a forum search and didn't find a topic so sorry if this is a repeat, but.... Has anyone found an adaptor that connects an iPod to the factory stereo on the 2003 TL's? If anyone has a setup please post pics, thanks all.

do a search on blitzsafe adapter. that's what you'll need to hook it to the stereo, plus you'll have to buy a y-cable at radioshack

Hell I just use the damn tape adaptor... I have some ancient one, that sounds kinda crappy sometimes, so I think I'm gonna buy one of the newer gold plated ones. I dont use it enough in the car to worry about it.

Go with the Icelink if you can afford it. I am using it in my car. Its great, the steering wheel and deck controls work to skip songs, switch to random, cycle through the repeat modes.

well, blitzsafe is the inexpensive way to go, you still can use the volume control on the steering wheel, but you do lose the control of switching songs via steering wheel..

ice link is more expensive but, you get what Chet said.

Just to add more confusion to the thread the Griffen smart deck is coming out at some point. Its a cassette adapter that lets you CONTROL the ipod via your tape deck! How cool is that?

Also as far as FM tuners go they can be a total crapshoot and have lots of problems. Ie signal fades, interferance etc. One cheap one that is supposed to work wel is the Roadmaster which several people claim has the best reception they've heard from an FM tuner.

I'm in the same boat myself and hopefully will be getting the Blitzsafe adapter. The icelink is great but too rich for my blood. Of course if that smart deck comes out...

you have to realize though, w/ any tape adapter, sound quality ain't that great. trust me, the blitzsafe and icelink is the way to go.

Yea its not that good. I'm wondering if I get a better adaptor... if it would sound a bit better. i have some kenwood one from the mid 90s. LOL.... my friend who has a TL and an iPod, said he has a gold plated one, and it sounds just fine.

Hi all... I have been reading about TLs and iPods for ages. I've tried the FM Transmitter route (which really sucked), and am currently using a $15 Sony cassette adapter which has actually made me wonder if a hard-wired connection would really sound all that much better (with the stock system).

However, I'm looking for the total integration (with a possible bonus of slightly better sound) -- that is, iPod hidden but hooked up all the time such that it just turns on and off with the key.

I've seen mention of Blitzsafe and IceLink. However, the Dension folks told me (this past Friday) that the Acura TL version is still in development and shipping sometime this summer. Has anyone tried the PAC AUX-POD kit?

I've actually read that under the PAC stickers are mentions of Dension so it makes me wonder if they're just OEMing the same core controller. The nice part (from my perspective) is that it ends in a simple iPod cable. The cable means I don't have to remove the iPod from its case (as you do to slide it into the Dension cradle). I really don't want a cradle anyway since that means having to hide the iPod whenever I park -- and nothing says (to me) "an iPod might be somewhere in this car" like an empty cradle attached to your center console.

Anyway, I was curious if anyone has tried the PAC AUX-POD kit.

In addition, I'm curious why so many sites claim that none of these things work in a 2nd generation TL if you have Navigation. This makes no sense to me. I have not actually disassembled my console, but I DID buy the ETM and it sure looks to me like the Nav system plugs into a completely separate connector from the changer. Since I don't have a changer, I can only imagine the changer socket is empty. I'm left wondering if this is just mis-information propagated all over the web with little actual relevance to our 2nd generation TLs. Any comments?

Thanks in advance... Perhaps I'll just have to order an AUX-POD and report back...

Interesting... According to this thread, the Navi issue isn't really an issue at all, or so it seems. [Just wanted to post the link to that page, now that I've dug a little deeper around on this site...]

Also on that page I see mention of yet another adapter, the Neo iON. Funny, the Neo iON looks JUST like the PAC AUX-POD, and from previous reading it seems that the PAC AUX-POD is just an OEM'd version of the ICELink. So, are these really all the same product?

If so, I'm a little bummed to read that the Neo iON doesn't seem to work quite as well as I'd expect (start and stop the iPod with the key as well as the source selection and radio power). Is this problem common to all interfaces or just the Neo?

Also, one more thread which includes a link to pictures of an iPod Mini installation in a TL...
