yup! there is a loud whooooooosh sucking sound and more obnoxious rice rocket noise...

if you get comptech icebox.... u avoid most of this problem.

Anyhow.... u won't feel a thing car will only psychologically be faster to you... so that you won't feel dumb for wasting money

Well not really, a good CAI will give you 5-8 wheel HP...approx. That will give you some more pull in the high RPMs and the sound isnt ricey at all!!! Only 4 cylinders sound "ricey", V6's have a nice growl that all Civic owners envy!

Ahhh, but I do, and doesn't sound anything ricey at all. Like OU Sig stated, far deeper growl than any 4 cyl could muster.

intake is worth it. It gives you a small hp boost which is good for the price, it looks cool, and you get a nice growl when you hit vtec. The only problem is I just cant decide between injen or aem.

is there any real reason to get the by pass value, i mean i know it helps prevent water but unless your going through a lake, your fine, and i heard it takes away all hp gains.

a very slight difference...but...i don't know.
i noticed a little better gas mileage.
i track every tank.
but there's no way to really tell.

the sound is fun...w/VTEC.
i think u could make a case for increased engine wear.
buy a quality intake.

If you get an intake, do you have to get anything else like a better air filter FOR the intake? Is it pointless to get an intake if you don't have headers or exhaust? And do you think it is pointless to get I/H/E if you aren't going to drop your car?

The intake already comes with the air filter you need for it.
An intake will be good with or without H/E. With all 3 you will get some more of an improvement.

And why the hell would lowering your car have anything to do with performance mods?

Lowering your car only gives you better handling...But Not superb handling but better. If you want a BIG difference in handling get some coilovers, and sway bars. Intake is worth it...my because V6 and the I4 engines make total different sound with intake. If you go for intake...go with I/H/E...makes your car sound nice.

It is NOT necessary to take off your front bumper to install a CAI. I installed my AEM V2 without taking off the front bumper without any problems.

Because if I plan on going fast don't you think it would be worth it to drop or get sway bars like they said?

I didn't say it would make my car go faster dickcheese, But anyone here would make the connection that if you want to go faster then it would be more than likely ideal to change the handling of your car.

thanks, I guess your chiming in makes you feel real mature!

I wouldn't have said anything if he hadn't been like "what the hell does blah blah blah..."
as if I am a complete moron for asking about lowering my car/different suspension when talking about mods.

My TL-S sounds like a MONSTER with the AEM CAI from 4800-7000 RPMS. And I know some people say that an intake is only for sound, but I definitely feel that my TL-S is a bit faster after I added the intake.

sounds like u wasted ur money on crap. go with an AEM V2 cai. i know there is a diff. in performance.
everyone that has ridden in my car will atest to that. got to aempower.com for dyno graph of 10whp. it is expensive though $300. performancecenter.com

get the AEM. i have it and i love it.. Nice growl about 5 rpm. when Vtec kicks in I do feel a little pull but not a lot.. but its worth it.. GO for it... Even better with headers.... Ok on performancecenter.com it states about 15hp and 12 lb/ft torque now where does 2-5hp gain come from? i saw a dyno graph doing about 15hp ..
