You can install a Comptech supercharger for the AV6 in our TL-P. In fact I've seen pics of one installed in a 99 TL-P. As for turbo, it's a custom mod, there are no kits available.

Yeah, AV6 supercharger will fit the TL-P with VERY FEW to no MODS...from what i see our cars have the space, same TB opening pulleys on the same side...dang what else is there...

For the amount of power you gain, the Comptech S/C is not an outrageous price IMHO.

well the supercharger is around 3k, unless you can find one used. As for turbo, thats a very expensive mod thats around 7-8k and only the CL guys have done it. 2 of them i believe and they did the job themselves, took a long time but they have insane hp boosts.

1800$ of installation charges? i really dont get it.. everytime i read a post on this forum about installation costs it seems like you pay 200$/hour.
in quebec a good tuning shop will charge like what.. 60CND per hour.. which is like 45USD..
can anyone explain this to me?

This might be a moot point, no matter how you get the HP, adding another 50-100HP to the TL's stock trannie miight be the cause cause of it failing, not nessissairly the S/C.
I think if you spent the money on the S/C you might want to make sure you have enough for an emergency trannie in the following months..

for cost reasons i'd say go with the supercharger. Also since the P has a lower compression than the S you will be able to run the high boost pulley without as many a/f issues.

you should be fine...are you considering this or are you just spammin chat?
if you want specs...estimate about50hp just for the installation and another 50hp when you put the bigger pulley...having a vafc to look over the a/f woulnt hurt

I want to see the guy that shoves a legend 6 spped trans in a TL. That guy has got some skills seeing that the Legend trans is for a totally different engine setup (not transverse), is about a foot longer, has no differntial, and no way of installing axels.

installing a 6speed into the TL has been done once before. You can go slavage a cl clutch, tranny and all that crap, then get a shop to spend a shit load of timing installing it and about 5k later, there you go

There is an outfit out of Florida that produces beefed up transmissions for the TL. I'm not positive on this, but I recall a discussion about this topic a few months ago.

welll if you want to get technical abot voiding the warrynty
i suggest this
INSTALL THE SUPERCHARGER YOURSELF .. take a long and slow ass time doing it
this way if you tranny shits or anything else, you can easily take the parts off in a short time and hide the evidence.
OH BTW KEEP ALL YOUR STOCK PARTS ... i didnt do this with my jetta and it ended up costing me close to 8 grandlol
IM BUYING COMPTECH TOO WOOT

There's no need for a twin turbo setup. The turbo used in the current CL-S's is the perfect size for the J32.
Other than the fact that a twin turbo set up looks cool, a single turbo will ALMOST always be better.

No offense, but it doesn't seem like you know much about the J32 and turbos.
Read up on the turbo kit on A-CL. Its not like you will be running 20 psi. Lag will not be bad at all.
There is no need to re-invent the wheel.
Also, I highly doubt twin turbos would fit under the hood of an automatic TL.

Your the type of guy that does alot of reading and that takes everybody elses word for everything. So maybe in fact you don't know alot about anything. The fact that our motors are "J32" doesnt mean shit. It's how you tune your car, how fuel management is setup, what type of computer your running and on and on. I've been in the game proabably alot longer then you have. I've been racing and building my own cars for about 10years now. I was the first in california to have a daily driven 10sec turbocharged h22 in a crx. Everybody called me crazy but i did it anyways. So if you would like me to take you to school about turbo's and motors i'll be more then happy to.

Cool dude.
When you say "the fact that our motors are J32 doesn't mean sh*t.... etc" shows your ignorance.
I made a suggestion and you decided to ram your worthless knowledge down my throat in an effort to beef up your ego... have fun with your twin turbo TL... good luck.
