Besides price, what's the major difference between the MDX spacer vs say one from OE. I get that OE's has a heat block effect from block to IM but other than that I feel like it'd just be easier to buy OE's kit with the IM and TB spacer than to have to hunt stuff down like you are raj...
Does the size of the spacer really affect gain that much?

we dont have a factor spacer.

when u put a spacer from a vendor what it is is a thermo gasket (keeps heat transfer down) and or a throttle body spacer. this is a factory mdx spacer and will raise the height of the intake manifold. the mdx, oddysee, pilot have this bc they need more torque. its been proven (3rd gen side) that it will give 7 wtq and i think about 2whp. search the 3rd gen tl side for more info.

ill get before and after dynos for the non believers.

I know we don't have a factory spacer. I just can't get my head around the idea that raising the IM a few mm will give you that much gain. I guess I will shut my mouth when I see your results.
I assume if OE made theirs thicker, we could see the same gains plus benefit of cooler air in the IM?

P.S. Are you milling it down yourself? If so, very impressive work.

What the spacer is doing is making the runners longer, which will give you more torque... I remember doing something similar to this on my cb7 accord \/ \/

Longest one they had over here was 90mm. Acura bolts are 105mm.

no. it still drives and all, gets 25mph cruising at 70 and 70% highway. it that it has a few bent valves and they dyno numbers would be off and pointless

just put the spacer on, had to do some cutting to the hood and spacers at the hinges. making a diy as i type. i feel and head the power. before (with bent valves) my car never broke traction in 1st. no at any mph in 1st gear, it will break the tires loose. tried it on diff pavements and speeds. also feel way better pick up in the higher rpms.

intake spacer mod FTMFW. way better than adding an intake but not quite as good as headers. anyway. for $70 not bad at all.

Nice!! I'm really thinking about this.. just don't wanna have to put the spacers for the hood hinges... Maybe I'll take it somewhere and get it milled down a bit... and put the 09 IM

are cowl hoods meant to draw air out of the engine? ive seen old muscle cars that have their intakes in the cowl to get the cool air from where the cowl opens, wouldnt this be counter productive if its pulling air out??

its meant to pull air in bc it creates a velocity something between the opening and the windshield, but we have no intake their and my sided are open, so i dont know if it messes with the function of a cowl hood.
