im gonna let a friend try it out on his 01 with cl-s engine and 6spd swap to see how much room he has. i know the engine sits higher but u might get away it cutting the bar and putting spacer under the hood hinges. also u can mill it down a bit.

Did I understand that the 09 intake is not as tall as the older ones? If so, how much, and would that allow for enough clearance?

It is shorter, don't know by how much. Ask e30 or civicdrivr to compare their oem one to the 09 manifold

If I remember right, you only need about 1/8 inch with the MDX and thermal spacer, from rajca's measurements

The 09 IM has got to be at least 1/8 inch shorter.

Anyone remember the gains from the 09 IM?

the gains given by civicdrivr were a few hp and tq across the entire rpm range but something is wrong with his car so I don't know if that's its real full potential

I have about 1/4 inch. I would have to cut the hood and power bulge it.

I still may try it with the 09 intake to see what happens? Then deal with the hood afterwards if the gains are worth the cutting and welding

not sure. the intake manifold is diff. but i think that it will work since the runners are the same and bottom of the intake manifold is the same.

Just to clarify:
Clearance is an issue even in Type-S or just '99-'01 TL-P?

For Kris:
'09 manifold will fit Type-S or just the TL-P with the smaller TB?

Very interested in this thread and awaiting results.

clearance is an issue.

read ur choices above on what to do.
kris can put it on bc he has a type s engine in his 99-01. with the oem engine in the 99-01 u will have the same problem as the rest of us.

09 manifold will fit type s and i want to say the tl-p but no one has done it on a tl-p/cl-p.

^ the 09 should fit the tl-p as well since the type-s manifold bolts right up to the 00-03 (99 is a little different)

I have a 99TL with a TypeS IM and I can tell you there is not much room left between the hood and the IM.
