Intake question
don't worry about what other people consider anything.
technically though, if you drop in a K&N, youre just changing the filter.
youre adding an "intake" if you change the whole piping, hence aem, injen, icebox...

Well, technically, since you are removing the resonator, your not adding anything. I removed my resonator and put in a K&N, which I think works fine. I haven't done a dyno yet, but it's good enough for me. Whatever fits your budget, go with. Some will say that you get the same gains, other say you don't...
why remove resonator?
What does the resonator do? What does removing it do for you? I put a K&N filter in place of the stock filter, but I never messed with any resonator. What's the benefit, and how hard is it to do?

Resonator is real easy to remove. It is in place to cut down on noise, and as such, causes some restriction in the airflow. Removing it allows more air to flow easier into your intake. It isn't that much louder with it removed either.
