Insurance Rates

Does your insurance go up if you're involved in an accident that is not your fault?

if it's not your fault, it remains the same...You are entitled to your deductable especially if it's not your fault...

I think my ins company is on the pipe. I've filed 4 claims (1 totally my fault, 1 not my fault, 1 a tree fell on my car, 1 valdalism) with them paying out a total of about $12k over 2 cars and a period of 3 years. Not only have my premiums not gone up I'm still getting the safe driver discount! I'm pretty sure I'm an anomoly though.

God bless State Farm!

Good luck,

Joe

Not right away. But if you file several claims, then your tier rating will go up and consequently your premium -- even if none of them was your fault.

For instance, this lady I knew got rear ended, hit while parked, rear ended again, and for the grand finale, got her car stolen. All in a short period of time.

Her insurance company dropped her, because her tier rating went up sky high. In other words, even though none of it was her fault, she just had bad luck of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. So just because she had some bad luck, she was dropped. Ain't that some shit?

You are NOT the only one State Farm is good to.

2 speeding tickets, 1 moving violation, 1 totalled car, 1 deer collision.

Not only have rates not went up, they went down!

Looks like I might have to give them a call. AAA surcharges up the ass for everything.

By the way, isn't State Farm one of the few companies out there who will just cut you a check for the damage estimate in case of an accident?
