Installed HID foglight conversion kit tonight...

It was surprisingly easy. I was done in about 15 minutes.

Then the battery died, and it's the second time it happened, so I said screw it and went to pick a Yellow Top. I needed it for the system, anyway.

I'm extremely happy with it, but since the kit was only available with 8000K bulbs, it looks like I'll have to upgrade the headlight bulbs to 8000K, as well.

Is it alright to use 8000K bulbs with the stock headlight system? The foglights make the headlights look like regular halogen bulbs.

8000k is such garbage in terms of light being put on the road. Cars that are stock with HIDs use 4100k usually. 8000k is too purple, it looks nice but doesnt provide enough light output

It gives a nice blue look and glow. I personally will go back from 6000ks to 4300ks and swap them every so often. I dont want blue blue like 8000ks. The hids draw a lot more power in the beginning so it might be working with that where it drained the battery.

Good point. After looking at the lights and comparing them, I've changed my mind and I've decided to get 4300K bulbs for the foglights, instead of getting 8000K for the headlights. It's not purple at all -- it just has a blue tint, but I prefer the 4300K better (or whatever our stock HID system is -- I thought it was 4200K, but someone told me it was 4300K ).

You can probably just buy some 9006 D2R bulbs and then some adapters and use the same ballasts... You will be able to change from 8000ks to 4300ks easily.

And swap back and forth as you please. That is what I am going to do for the 6000ks and 4300ks.
