What do you mean 3" vs. 2.75"? If you have a type S engine, you would be using 3" which both AEM and Injen sales. I guess you can use a 3" on a 2.75", but not sure how tight that would hold up. As far as the thing coming apart, you can just cut the AEM one and have a short ram too...well the people running the bypass valve have to cut it anyways. As far as one being the better...I don't really believe too much in that...the only thing that would make me a believer is a dyno sheet. Personally people have said they sound the same and perform the same despite the AEM have 3 bends whereas the Injen has 2 bends. I guess the only one that is supposedly the best was the Xephyr with only 1 bend that supposedly claim a 25% increase in power. I don't know...

From: Miami - just one day, I would like to drive without getting cut off!
Question How about Blitz?

How does blitz compare to Injen and AEM. It seems that most people prefer AEM to INJEN because of the bypass valve even though Injen has a 3" pipe. Is this right?

It's up to you...without starting a flame war here...the bypass valve is a safety device protecting your $5k-6k engine from "hydrolocking" whick is water getting into the engine and all that. Please note that tests have been conducted and the bypass valve does work, but most if not all of the tests have been conducted with the filter submerged in water. Ultimately this comes down to piece of mind. If you have a lot of rain in your area, do get it. If not...it's up to you. Be fore warned also that the bypass valve will steal a few hp from your overall performance. Read this for more info http://www.geocities.com/gamesmgr/chod/acura/#CAI8

Yea it does sound somewhat of a contradiction, but according to many CL owners who run the Xephyr CAI, it's design was the most superior of the three, the two others being Injen and AEM. I have nothing but those people's words to backup the above statement. And I have a correction to my numbers stated above...I am in error by saying it was a 25% increase in hp...it's actually 6%. Forgive me on that one. What I don't get it is that basically you fit a 3" diameter CAI into a 2.75" diameter engine opening? I'm not doubting you did it, just curious as to why and if there is any problems for future reference. Yes I can see the advantage of not having to cut the CAI, but I would rather have it one piece and decide whether or not to get the bypass valve.
