Info on 2002 Front End Upgrade...
I went to the dealership and got a cost estimate for the body panels and headlights for a 2002 upgrade. I have a 2000. It came out to be roughly 2,500 dollars for hood, fenders, bumper, headlights and hid setup. The hid setup is different told to me by the parts guy. this does not include installation or painting. I am not sure If it is worth it. I sure like the new front end and I am not ready to buy a new car again. Any suggestions? Would you do it? Thanks TL owners.....

If you like it and it will make you feel better, then do it, but if you feel it does not justify the cost then dont do it and either mod the car with the money or save it for a rainy day, god knows how many rainy days saved money has gotten me out of a jam. So more power to you if you want to do it, but think about it at least a little before you do.

Keep in mind something like that may actually devalue the car because it will no longer be a "real" '00.

My opinion i would invest the money into somthing else on the car. i would leave my car original.. it is just somthing about faking out the car to a Type S dose not agree with me. cause to other people it might look like i have a type S but deep down inside i know it is a TL.... Feel free to do what you want. i wish i had the Type S also but i ant Donald Trump.. Just my 2 cents

DOnt get me wrong I am not trying to look like a TL-s Its just I Like the crystal clear headlights on the 2002 where as my 2000 headlights has that diffuser. I also like the foglights in the 2002. I just like the newer look. I see civics all day and on occasion I get them confused with the TL cuz the headlight style/design is just like the civic.(I am talking about when they are turned off).

Yeah i hear you ..... i wanted to do the same thing but i just changed my frount custom style with Hid fog lights and a GutterGuard grill. Next if it is possible i might take out the protective lens inside of the headlights so the Hid can come out brighter. i know its not good But oh well . my fogs are brighter than my hid street lights...... good luck tho if you want to make the upgrade .. yeah i hate looking like civics especially hate it when they think my car is a Honda Acoord or a Ledgend.....

There is plastic there that all it does is distributes the light evenly to all areas. If you take it out it will distort the lightning. Plus the metal around the bulb is not chrome, so it does not look good.
As you could see, my headlights are clear. I had to put it back because the lighting is not right, but it did look sweet.

Do you have HID fogs???
I never mistake a TL with a civic or a Legend, how could u?
Did those people tell u your TL looks like a civic or an accord? How do people get that notion, what insecurity. Sell the car if you don't like it. Get a car that looks orginal, you won't find it, unless u got $100K or more.
Sorry if I sound mean or something, I'm just trying to prove a point.

I dont want to start the carpayments all over. The only reason I have a TL is because I am in the navy and I got a huge renlistment bonus an put alot down on myy TL. I dont have a lot of money to throw around but it would be cheaper to do that(new front end) than buy a 2002 in my eyes. Maybe I wait a few months until a 2002 gets trashed from the rear and get the parts that way.

I kindda like the 02 headlights too...i was thinking of doing that too.but thats just way to much money...so...if i ever get into an accident or my headlights get stolen(knock on wood) then im getting the new conversion. But if anyone out there that lives in CALi ..and wanna trade for the new 02 for me 00...i'll trade ya and give you money. I got a black 00.

use the 2500, get some rims, a body kit, HID fogs and have money left over for whatever you want. That will IMO make it look better than a stock '02 TL front

Bad idea. You arent even talking $2500 here. Add the cost of paint and labor to install it all and my guess is at least $4K. Spend the money on performance or sound!!! You would get zero dollars back on resale the other way!!!! In my opinion the '02 look is not as nice as the '01, I could have waited a month to get an '02 but when I saw the new front end I immediately went with the '01. The interior to the '02 is a bit nicer though. It all comes down to personal preference in the end.

Just on my info I already have the rims. have the stereo. I have the H&r race springs. I can not put a body kit on. It is already too low. I think my next project will be the supercharger or to do the 2002 front end. I get attached to my cars. I will not just get rid of it. Upgrade it yes. i just cant get rid of a 13 month old car.
