Here is the letter I promised please cut and paste , modify at will and send it to Acura within the next two weeks so they get flooded!
To whom it may concern,
I am writing you today to express my discontent with the following matter. As the owner of a late model Acura 3.2 TL, a symbol of “Touring Luxury”, I was amazed to find that there are no fog-lights standard on my vehicle. Unfortunately the feature is not offered as an accessory. The openings on the bumper are unpainted and draw attention to a vacant space. As I presume you already know, most other Honda and Acura models come standard with fog-lights or have available accessory kits. When I asked the dealership for an explanation, they responded with something about the lights not working well with the H.I.D. headlights. Perhaps then the fog-lights on your MDX and RL should be removed from production. Obviously, this is not a logical response. Most other cars in the same class have fog-lights and H.I.D. headlights. I was also surprised to learn that the Japanese model is made in the US and comes with a different bumper with fog-lights. The wiring and switch are already manufactured in the United States and are 100% compatible. Even the Honda Accord wiring and switch fit the opening and are fully functional. I believe that the costs involved to manufacture the trapezoid shaped light to fit the opening would be minimal. Since the wiring already exists, why has Acura left their customers with this unresolved issue?
Many of us are first time buyers and lessees of Acura products. Details of this nature greatly influence our future purchase decisions. Is it possible that the marketing research has overlooked the demand for this option? Why incorporate a flat black indent in the bumper if you do not provide the option? I’m sure I speak for many when I state how impressed and excited we are with Honda/Acura products but this puzzle has left many of us surprised and above all disappointed. I would be pleased to know that Acura is a company that values their customers’ comments and preferences and uses them to provide the best products to meet their customers expectations. Perhaps you can shed some light on this situation and provide a solution, no pun intended.
Sincerely yours,
VIN#

i'm really hoping it would work...but very doubtful about this idea.
why would they satisfy 100 customers or so... they make cars for millions of people, why care what 100 people have to say.
shouldn't we just write to piaa or a fog company that would care a bit more?
but other than that, i'll send my mail too,
thanks NHB

Unfortunatley, Honda/Acura electronic customer complaint system will not handle a letter as long as the one posted (convenient for Honda)states comments too long.

They will listen. If 100 or more bothered to write from all over the US and Canada, then they will assume that at least a few thousand feel this way. Plus I am sure that many dealerships have inquired due to their customers constantly asking for them.

Outstanding job. Would suggest we offer the company a possible and obvious solution-"Why not market the Japanese parts directly in the U.S.?"
I work for a large corp. and I know that the obvious sometimes escapes them. If we do their work for them and point out what makes common sense, then sometimes they respond positivly.
