I'm Officially Hooked!

So i'm new to the acura world, although I have been a Honda owner for over 8 years. I had a 90 accord that I did a bunch of modding to and it lasted forever. I recently purchased my older sisters 99 TL P from her for 5 Gs and gave away the Honda , sad day. Anyways I have been browsing the forums for the past month now looking at everyones rides , seeing what's being done to the tls, and getting a lot of great info. I've hit the D I Y section and it has introduced me to seafoam , and helped me replace the ORIGINAL air cabin filter. The car has 150000 miles. Yeah imagine the nastiness. Oh yeah and helped me debadge. Anyways the moral to the story is i'm up here at work and once again on the forum. This time from my blackberry. I think I have a problem. Well I just want to thank the community for all the great work and hopefully I can give back in the future. So I guess I can start by saying what I've done to my baby so far. Other than what I've stated above I changed the plugs (which looked original) if you couldn't tell by now my sister didn't do much but get the oil changed. After the seafoam I put her on a strict synthetic diet (Mobil 1 is my choice). And have placed my order for. OE spacers , injen CAI , smoked tint for headlights and tail lights , and made my appo for tint. 20% front 5% back and rear. I look forward to spending much more time on here. And I apologize for any grammatical errors or if it appears as one big blob. Because as I said this is from the crackberry

Yeah we finally got the pearl at Verizon. I was on an old 7130 or something like that for a long time. This is such an upgrade. But your right you can't stop. Ha. I'm still browsing the forums on this damn thing.

Welcome to ziner world, its like Bizzaro World except with tech info
If you have over 100k miles, and its way past TIME on a 99 to change the timing belt and water pump- adjust the valves etc, the TLs only big service, and its about a grand.
Parts of it can install other mods like the spacers- since the intake manifold needs to be removed to clean the egr ports and install the spacer- the valve covers are right there...

Did it ever get the ignition switch recall done?
register with acura as the new owner, and ask about any warranties or recalls in effect.
1-800-382-2238 x5 and
https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp?brand=acura
you need the VIN for each of those

yeah as far as the major stuff with the car, such as timing belt , transmission at 130k , water pump etc . that has all been done by my honda/ acura mechanic. I've been using him for 8 years and he did all my motor work and trans with my old honda, He is actually my brother in laws' best friend. He has done all the major work already and told me the only thing i needed to worry about was bringing it to him for a trans fluid change later. The little maint stuff I guess he assumed they should be doing that themselves already. lol But I will def be cleaning out the IM and egr when the spacers go in. Thanks for all the info

Damn this site!!!! I just painted my engine cover today. LOL and will be painting my Injen CAI to match when it comes in the mail. I need to stay off this for a few days . this car is supposed to be my daily driver and trip car not my mod car. Thats supposed to be the STI i'm getting in a few months. I love the acura though and it just so fun to tinker with. I can"t stop. Is there Azine Anonomous ?
