I'm in DESPERATE Need of HELP!!! Traction Control??? ETM????

I'm in DESPERATE Need of HELP!!! Traction Control??? ETM???

I have a 2003 TL Type S. I am in need of an ETM of the Traction control module to find out for sure if that is my problem.

OR....

Doest the standard 3.2 TL auto use the same traction control module as the 3.2 TL Type S Auto????? A local salvage yard has a 03 TL, but they have no way to pull up the traction control module in their computer system to know if that part interchanges. I am willing to take the gamble on buying the module and hoping that fixes the issue, if I can find out that its the same module.

ALSO... since their system doesn't show the traction module, they would need to know where it is located in the car, and also what it looks like, so they can pull the part for me...

Can anyone help me with any of these questions???? PLEASE??? I am desperately needing help with it all.

VSA replaced TCS in the newer models.

how about you post your issues before going out buying parts..

Not just newer models.
lets look at 2003.
the 2003 TL-P has TCS... While
the 2003 Type S have VSA.

So (form another member) VSA has TCS incorporated into it. It's controls wheelspin (like TCS), but also corrects understeer and oversteer (hence Vehicle Stability Assist)

The traction control light is on, on the cluster. I took it to the Honda dealership and they hooked it up to their machine. The code it pulled said it was the "Secondary Throttle Position"

I need to get a hold of an ETM. I need to find out where the Traction control stuff is located, and a wiring diagram so we can test it all and see what the actual problem is.

I would not want to buy parts without knowing what the problem is, however it was almost worth the risk buying it from a friend, since it would be returnable for me.

WOW... Good thinking...

The code was for the Secondary Throttle Valve. Its working just fine, but he said there are other things it could be, such as the control module for that secondary valve. Being that its a Honda dealership and NOT an Acura dealership, he does not have access to the info he needs to trouble shoot it right off.

Thats why I am trying to get some info here.

Anyone here a Service Tech at a Acura Dealership???

I am trying to find some information on my car so I can get it fixed. I am in need of an ETM for my 03 TL Type S. I am having some issues with the Traction Control. I am not close to an Acura Dealer, but I do have a Honda tech that is willing to work on the car if I can locate the ETM for it.

If you can help me, please PM or post up.

The motor seems to be working fine, and the butterfly part opens and closes fine. He is thinking it may be the computer module that controls it that is not workign properly, however he has no specific specs to test it against.

Got any Electrical Info on that module that controls the valve motor??

In the future if you're unsure as to whether a Type S part is the same as non-S, you could look up each part yourself online for each model & compare part #s.

If you're referring to item #1 in that illustration with the cable, I think it's the actuator for the IMRC. If so, there IS a module that controls it. Look behind the driver's kick panel.

Do you have more info on this??? Do you know where I could find more info on it? I greatly appreciate your input, and if I can find info so the guy can test the input/output to find out if that module is the problem or not.

I really really appreciate your input.

That has NOTHING to do with the VSA. Its strictly the 2nd stage intake actuator cable. How do you know the butter fly is working on the 2nd throttle. It shoudnt do any thing other than sit in the wide open position till the computer tells it to close to limit throttle.

Your absolutly correct. I just talked to the guy thats working on the car, and he said the same thing you just did.

Can you help me??? OK, in the above pic looking at part #9. The throttle valve is NOT moving. What controls that motor on that valve???

That's a completely different part- If you will detail what exactly you want to know (pinouts, etc.) I will try to find it in the manual.
