I just had ignition switch recall done for 99TL and dealer charged me $40 to re-hook up my remote starter has anybody else charged for this or is my dealer just greedy? since acura is taking my ignition system apart for the recall, shouldn't they put it back together?

 

I have a '00 TL with remote start and if my dealer charged me I would flip out on them...its only 2 wires and takes about 2 minutes and 2 butt connectors of their time.......greedy dealers

 

Another guy with an Odyssey had Honda charge him $100 ! Talk about greedy!

 

I would have spomen to the service manager. They were the one's who took it apart and I would therefore expect them to put it back the way they found it. Don't you think that if you have a body kit on and for some crazy reason they had to remove it they wouldn't re-attach it??? Aside from the fact that it is a simple 1-2-3 job.

 

I would call Acura and get your money back. It's not your fault the car had to be recalled...

i dont see anything wrong with charging you. the remote starter is an aftermarket part, the body kit is not

my dealer wanted $60 or something but i brought it to a friend to do it. on my system its 5 wires being tapped
