If I use synthetic, can I flush my oil with regular oil?

I was going to flush out my engine because the oil is REALLY REALLY dirty. I let it go a little too long without a change and its caught up with me. Anyway, I'm not here to get flamed. I just had a simple question. I use Mobil1 Synthetic and I was wondering if I could just flush out my oil with some cheap regular oil. I will just drain my dirty oil, close it up, run my engine for a couple of miles, and then change it back to synthetic. Is this ok?? Also, should I change my dirty filter before, or after I put the cheap oil in?

Thanks
Rosh

I really don't think you need to go through all that trouble. If you want, just purchase a 1 qt. can of gunk engine flush and follow the directions on it. It cleans sludge from oilways, etc. and thins out the oil so that it drains better. Make sure you let it drain completely out.

I've used it on other cars, and it's worked well. If you do that, and then change over to synthetic you should be fine.

I have used this product. Amsoil and Valvoline also make similar products.

Unless you really went over by like 6mths, and you do that routinely, I wouldn't even use the engine flush Rosh especially if you are running synthetics.

Id get a can of Marvels Mystery oil, and pour that in your engine a few days before your oil change. Its a great cleaner, and just run it for a few days, and then change your oil like always.

I have to agree with Mr Myde. I missed the fact that you were already using a synthetic oil. You should be able to just change it like normal.

Unless you went a ridiculous distance/time without an oil change I would say go ahead and just drop the oil with Mobil 1 again or ... Amsoil/Royal Purple/Redline/Scheafers and a K&N filter
