Icebox Install Problems!
I'm in the process of swapping out my AEM V2 with a CT Icebox...
I've never done this before, but I've read thru the instructions and thought it should be a fairly straightforward installation.
Most of the work was done already since the stock airbox was already removed. I removed my old intake without a problem.
When I went to put the bottom half of the icebox in, I wasn't able to put it in without removing my battery tiedown, and this metal cross bar thingie that goes diagonally. Ok, no problem, I removed the tiedown which doesn't really do anything anyway as well as the crossbar.
Next problem, the bottom half of the icebox doesn't really sit in the space securely, and although the instructions say that there are 3 screws that secure it, I was only able to align 1 screw (the one on the bottom). The 2 screws on the side simply have no where to go. There's only 1 hole on the side that will even fit one of the screws, but there's no way I can line it up properly.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem?
Also, when removing my old CAI, I unplugged 2 hoses near the throttle body. One of them is sorta spongy hose, and the other is hard. I'm not sure how the hard hose fits to the icebox as the 2 openings on the length of the icebox near the throttlebody are also hard plastic... What's the deal with this?
Sorry if these are retarded Qs, but I really can't figure this out.

This sounds like how my install went. Nothing really lined up perfectly. I had to move the battery cover, tiedown, etc. as well. I was able to get it in there, but it did take some adjusting. I don't think my icebox sits perfectly in the slot. I also had to cut some plastic that lays over the headlight from what I recall. I was able to get all of the screws in, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to be pretty pulling it apart (I have a k&n filter iin the box waiting to be installed).
The hardplastic line near the throttle body I'm guessing is the coolant line ...no ? I don't remember exactly, but I remember you had to take out this piece and reroute a new coolant line around the throttle body. The instructions had a decent explaination of this.

The ice box it self should have two holes on the side of it and the frame of the car should have one hole on it.I hand tightened the bolt so could kind adjust the bracket to I got all the screws in then a tightened them.As far as that battery rod I don't remember having any problems.Comptech dose not have clearest of direction.I install a Comptech strut bar this weekend and it wasn't hard but it wasn't easy either.good luck
