it's just the oil change reminder... it should turn on every... 7500 miles or so (correct me if i'm wrong) but yeah whatever that is in km i'm pretty sure its nothing to worry about... now if its an check engine light thats a totally dif story

the oil change minder/Mait req. starts flashing about 6000-6500 miles and gets more insistant by 7500
if a CEL yellow light came on at speed you probably overtemped the cat and it will be ok the next day-
stock cat doesnt like full throttle runs

I believe the OP said he was driving fast - as in 120 Miles Per Hour or 200 Kilometers Per Hour - not that his car has 120,000 miles. (but I could be wrong... I was just reading exactly what the OP wrote...)

Yup, I'd say its the oil change reminder as well. It comes on more frequently than 7500 miles though mlrskn06

Without looking at a manual to confirm/deny, I bet it's time for the 7 year or 105,000 mile maitenance (or for perhaps for Canadian cars, it's at 180,000 kilometers i dunno).
Cost is about $1100-1500USD at a dealer, or $600-800 at an independent shop, I think one of the vendors here is having a great sale on all the parts - you could order and then take parts to a shop you trust and save even more...

(FWIW, if it is time for the big maitenance - do it... you run the serious risk of totally ruining your engine if the timing belt goes or one of those tensioners seize on ya)

the mait req light is nothing more than an oil change reminder that you reset by using the 2 trip buttons (push and hold) and certain use of key position-turn ON,,,light blinks several times and resets for another 7500 miles

in the last two weeks, when you start the car first time of the day- does the mait reg light flash a few times? thats what it does in the miles just before it comes on solid at 7500 since it was last reset--you can reset it at 20 miles or 5000 miles since last reset if you want and it will wait another 7500
does not know about oil condition either
The YELLOW CEL may come on at high speed due to possible cat overheat being detected
If you really freak the computer out it will go into LIMP mode, 2500 rpm limit- to get you off the road and on the tow truck if the car believes internal damage from something

Huh! I always thought it was around 6000 blinking and then 7500 solid. I guess ya learn something new everyday!

you get a CEL and limp mode
what fsttyms meant was you cannot adjust the minder to go off earlier, it starts warning at a set point - not adjustable interval
