Angry I hate Thief part II

I got out of my house this morning just to witnessed the most pathic thing that ever been done by a so-call human being - some ph*&cked-up-in-the-head took my both head lamps and in doing so, he completely destroyed the front of my 2000 TL . Putting a buttlet into this guys head is being too easy on him is how mad I am now. From an estimate over the phone, this is gonna cost me at least 3G . If someone thinks I should not be enraged about this, raise your hand and dont forget to keep an eye on it or you'll lose it.

Maverick, your not alone. There are a lot of people stealing TL and CL headlights. It was recently in the new york times over here. Also, over here, there is a backorder on the parts. I would be angry too. Best of luck.

oh bummer, sorry to hear that. I think what pisses TL owners off more is that the headlights are on back order, so even if money was not an issue, you'll still have to wait for the headlights to come in. Anyway, what will you do in the meantime? Get a loaner or rent a car? That blows, and whoever did it, ought to be prisoned for life! I rather see him suffer eternally then to shoot the mofo!

Damn that sucks! There was a big thing about this on the News and in the paper about a few weeks ago here on the East coast.
If you find the person you should rip his eyes out by going thru his ears!

My colleague just got his headlights back in.
It took 2 weeks and the bill was $3500, not including the rental car.
2 weeks was very fast already as those lights are on back order.

The worst part is that his lights were jacked in my neighborhood.
The body shop that did his lights and fender repair did 20 last month. That's 1 per business day. And that's only 1 body shop out of a strip of many dealers and body shops.
Those freakin' low life bums suck royally.

I think the real pisser is that one feels violated, that someone destroyed your prize possession and you weren't out there to hurt someone, just one who admires fine automobiles

That really sux man. I cant see how some people can destroy someone elses property like that. What can I say, I have morals, respect, decency, and I am not a low life piece of $hit.

Its a sad thing, but the fear of the headlight thefts is what is forcing me to spend a ton of $$$ on a Clifford alarm which is getting installed the day after tomorrow. The stock alarm without a shock sensor (which could help prevent this and convince a guy to move on to someone elses car) is in my opinion nothing but a piece of junk. Most thieves are counting on TL/Cl owners to rely just on that chipped key for security even though it does nothing for the rest of the car. If anyone comes near my front bumper that alarms going to be will be wailing.

One of the reasons I don't wanna get an alarm is that if I wake up one morning and my car's gone, guess what? Insurance! And guess what else! I wouldn't want my car back anyways after these A$$holes are done with my car!

Unhappy

Hi guys!

Thanks for sharing the pain. Now I'm just completely numb from all this. I'm waiting for the police report and just fax it to the insurance company and take it from there. I expect to be a pedestrian for the next 2 to 3 months at least so if you see someone wandering his way to work on foot in the highway please give him a ride ) .

Brian:

Talk to the place where you think it will be fixed and see if they can get the lights. If not, start some work on your part to see if you can find the lights on your own. If you can find them from a junkyard or something you'll probably save a lot of money too.

If that doesn't work, just strap 2 flashlights inside the bumper and drive around.

Time for an alarm system with the built in electric shocker. I had someone tell me that they had a friend hook one up.

trying to bring humor to a crappy situation.

I would be LIVID if this happened to me. I go insane having a loaner car for a day when mine's in the shop. I do think you should get started on locating those lights though, you may get the car back sooner than expected.
