Talking I finally took the plunge...!!!

Well folks,

I went to the dealer today and ordered me a brand new '03 TL-P w/ Nav, blk/blk, with dealer installed wood steering wheel, wood shift knob, and spoiler. I placed a $500 deposit down. The final agreed upon price was $31,900 + TTL.

I can't wait until it comes in. I have searched and searched for the "right" car for many months now, going from a GS300 to 430 to the Toyota Sequoia, and finally settling on the TLP. Just can't pass up the bang for the buck and the feel of my first NEW car!

I forsee many sleepless nights in the upcoming weeks waiting for my baby to come in!:wow:

Congrats! But, you could have gotten a TL-S for another grand. Why didn't you?

They said it would be at least a month before it came in. That kinda sucks, but it does give me more of an opportunity to put an even larger down payment when it comes in.

I debated the TLP vs. TLS, but the TLP has sufficient power for me. I'm young(23), but power is not at the top of my list. I'm going from a ~150hp car now, so 225 will be just fine. I also liked the softer ride of the TLP. I would have gotten the Type-S, but I didn't like the black wood and triangle headrests, and the extra money to swap that stuff out just wasn't worth it to me.

But it's all good. I can't wait!

I'm definitely coming to the meets! Actually, I posted in the Meets forum looking for people to get up in the Hampton Roads area. But I went to school in NOVA, so going up there is no prob!

Welcome to the club! I have an '02 TL-P, and am satisfied with it. I had the same decision to make as you did. I figured that 225 hp was good enough for me. The ride isn't very different between the TL-P and -S to me--neither is firm enough for my tastes, and there's too much body lean in the curves. That's where buying the TL-P is advantageous...more money leftover for mods like Comptech springs! That is, once I get mine back from the body shop...waaah! (Good news....should be Friday, 2 weeks ahead of schedule! )
