Hypothetically Speaking...

Would it be possible to DIY and add a heating element to the rear seats and make them heated as well?

Yesterday someone got in my back seat and commented on how cold it was and it got me to thinking about a heated rear seat! I didn't think I had seen this done yet, but correct me if I am wrong!

I really can't imagine it being all that difficult, but feedback is welcome and appreciated!

I havent seen someone do it either... BUT since I rarely have my car with people in the back why bother? It would make sense if it was a full family car only tough..

You can add heated seats where ever you would like. You would just have to add the heater elements. There are plenty of aftermarket heated seat kits out there.

Option #2

Find a seat cover for the back seat. No more cold back sides..

I usually end up driving all of the friends around because they like the TL over their civics, accords, and corollas

I will look into aftermarket kits, and if I end up doing it I will post a mini-DIY

Cloth seats vs leather seats tho.

Also, I'm was wondering if it's possible to add cooled seats to the front seats. After the 6 speed swap, I have 2 sets of seat heater buttons and it got me thinking to wire one set up for cooled seats.

Do you guys think it's possible?

cooled seats is pretty hard.

instead of a heating coil element, you'll have to figure out a way to blow cold air through the seats.

Option #3

Point your rear air registers down towards your seats and have them open all the way to keep the climate control nice and cozy for your rear seat passengers.

Hmm, cooled seats would really be good for those hot ass summer days. It'd help keep the babe's buns from oozing sweat on the leather.

Option #4

Provide bleacher style cushions for your rear seating guests, works for high school football games, why not for your TL?

I decided on getting bottom and back kits (2 of them) for the two back seats, not including where the armrest is. I usually only have 4 people max anyways. Am gonna try to wire the hi/lo switches near the cupholders, or somewhere on the door panel armrest! Want it to look somewhat stock!

Should turn out pretty good!

Yeah, should work out.....take some notes and pics along the way to pass along to any others that may be considering this as an upgrade.

Impressing a future mother-in-law is a worthy endeavor! Otherwise, tell that skinny-ass bitch to toughen up...

We always left our mother-in-laws sit in the front seat because they didn't like getting into the back. Granny also really appreciated the warm front seat on a cold winter day. Impress them while ya can, because sooner then ya may think.... they will be gone.
