At 42k, I thought my transmission was one of the good ones, but last night she started flaring between 2nd and 3rd gear. No christmas tree in the dash board yet, but my car is not going to be moved until Monday when she gets limped to the dealer. Im certainly not going to wait until its ready to :grenade: .
Still love my car, but lets see how much of a hastle this is going to if any. I'll be dropping her off at Park Ave first thing in the morning.

Sorry to hear that.......They gave me such a hassle to replace mine...they wouldn't do it until the check engine light, vsa, and d5 were all blinking and lit up. I literally had to drive my car until it could no longer shift out of first gear.

My tranny went again last night (#3). I was in D5 and all the sudden it started reving @6k and I was in 2nd. It wouldnt let me go past 2nd. Then I popped it in Neutral and back down to 5th and it went away. It happened twice.

Mr. , and Mr Hyde, my condolences. I hope that your car will be remedied ASAP, and Mr. Hyde your going to drive your call all the way over to Park Ave.? Is their service that good? I did hear that they give out better loaner cars, I just hope they dont stick you guys in some Ford Focus or Toyota Corolla, and keep you in atleast a RSX or TSX. It seems like its bound to happen to everyone, and sure as helll doesnt seem like only 2%, more like 20% if you calculate the number of people who've had 2,3,4 trannies replaced, which is insane!!

did notice on the news this week that honda is recalling some of their mini vans & a suv for transmission related problems, think an acura was also in the recall group. Hopefully ours cars will be taken care of in the near future. Real sorry to hear of your ryde, mr. hyde, as our cars look identical, mine is a 2003tls. So did this tranny thing happen without warning? good one day, gone the next? that sucks!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, i just got my trans replaced at 33,620miles, and i'm at 33,020 now. But i really feels that the acceleration of the car had decreased, and also the shifting is not smooth either....I hope it's just the new trans and it needs some time to work better..
New tranny and new ECU...i don't know if it's the ECU setting affecting the performance or not. But i'm going to ask them once i take it in for the 33,750 miles service.

Sorry to hear about HYDE. My tranny went at about 20K. The dealer really didn't give me much hastle at all (it probably helps that my mechanic is a friend). I just had to drive around in one of their loaner TL's for a week. Good luck.
