how to remove stock shifter?

how to remove stock shifter?
Is it just screwed in? If not what is it? I dont want to break anything

no prob man...I went to take it off to swap shifters too, but i decided i liked my OEM shifter better...but when I first tried to remove it, it was tough as hell...
