Jus wondering if majority of people drive mostly with sportshift or just in D5. I like drivin with SS cuz i can keep the car at lower gears driving and keep it from shifting too fast.

Is it stressfull on the engine at all when engine power brakes the car at lower gears?

 

I use SS a lot. There's not a whole lot of mountains here in Michigan, but I still enjoy being able to hold the gear through turns, and holding the gear to pass someone, race, whatever.

It just depends on my mood, though. If I feel like a speedracer, then I use SS. If not, I just leave it in D5 and drive around all grumpy.

Engine braking affects not only the engine, but the entire power and drivetrain. If you're in mid-range, then it would be alright. But don't let it wind down from 6000 RPM or anything.

in city i usualy do D5 coz lots of stopping at light

Always. Started using it a few months after I got the car. Then I started using it in traffic to avoid the constant shifts. Now it's like breathing.

 

sometimes....definitely depends on my mood....actually, i've been using it for the past 3 days all the time......only problem is it's REALLY tempting to speed with it....i use it on the highway too....it's awesome

 

Every so often.....when i am in the mood of driving...

 

i use it when i'm messing with someone around town or on the highway, or just in one of those drive really fast and obnoxious moods, otherwise I'm pretty much in D5 all the time.

I pretty much only use it when I need that get up and go. I sure it ends up using more gas.

 

every time im on the hwy, that way i can plan my passes better and have it in the correct gear to pass.
that and the back roads. its alot more fun that way.
rarely use it in the city
i especially like it now that i have the + and - switched around the way it should be

 

i'm afraid to use it.
i keep thinking tranny parts are will go spewing out the back.

did i mention i have no confidence in my transmission?.

 

yes it's very tempting to speed with it. i found out the hard way at 4am in the morning 2 days ago.

 

Only use it when I need engine braking when on a hilly road and I'm behind a slow moron.
