How Many Miles When New TL Delivered!!!

Hello All,

I want to know how many miles on your TL when it was brand new delivered?

My dealer is convincing me to get one with 30 miles on it. I am thinking it should had been test-drove.

Because last time my new Maxima only has 5 miles upon its delivery.

Your comments please!

It was definitely less than 10 (I think closer to 6). 30 miles sounds like it's been test driven .

mine had 3,

30 is too many I think, I'd try to knock down the price or get some free accesories, or have them give you a "brand new" f'n car!

Further, if it was a test drive car you should get a huge $$$ break, b/c it is really now a used car. I'd never get a test drive car.. especially after what I did to that poor TL-S I test drove.

Mine had 4 miles and I was pissed. I'm sure they were 4 hard miles too. You can be sure that any miles on your car are HARD miles.

I would not accept a new car with more than 5 miles tops.

First the dealer try to trick me in getting the test-driven car (100 miles on :wow: ) I demanded to get another one, went through the paper work again, and got a TLS with 7 miles.

Don't buy it. When I picked mine up it had 8 miles on it. Don't buy anything with over 10 miles. You never know where it's been.

Mine had 18 miles on it. 18 is better than 118, 000 - that's what my '95 Legend had when i sold it a few months ago. (That car rode awesome. That car will last forever if properly maintained. But i wanted something new). In case u did not know: the TL-S rocks .

Mine came with 5 on the odometer. I think anything under 100 miles can still be considered new (legally anyway) right?

When I bought my 2000 Galant LS back in '99 it had 50 and that's because they drove it to my dealership from another in CT somewhere. I wouldn't worry to much, just make sure it wasn't used for test drives.

I noticed most of us with the higher mileages ones are the ones with a dealer traded car. haha. Same thing happened on my contract..it said 45 miles...but hey..i didn't care. :p I mean..if there is something wrong with the car..it will be fixed. it's still a new vehicle.

Brand new it should be between 1 and 15. But are there any other dealerships near you? It could have been delivered from another dealership.

I still remeber the time when I was picking it out from the lot....Mine had 2 miles on it when I got it...
I wouldn't get it if it had 30 miles on it. As a matter of fact, I'd tell the dealer to give me a 5-6k discount for that the drive car! (trust me, it's fair)

Although it is nice to demand or get a brand new car with single-digit mileage on the odometer, getting one doesn't absolutely guarantee that there may be problems with the vehicle. Just ask those guys who've had their trannies or engines repaired/replaced how many miles were on the car when they bought it new--somehow, I'm guessing that many of those cars probably had very little mileage on them before their owners bought them.

Whether you buy a car with 10 miles on the odometer or 100, as long as you have the warranty to take care of any problems that come up, mileage shouldn't always be the deal-breaker that many people make it out to be. In a weird way, someone who bought a new car with let's say 200 miles on it has essentially a 50,200-mile warranty whereas someone else who bought one with 5 miles on it has a 50,005-mile warranty. If you think about it, the 200-mile car has a bit "longer" margin of error since the powertrain component(s) has been operated longer while under warranty than the 5-mile car has. In any case, can anybody come up with anecdotal and substantiated proof that new cars which sustained powertrain component damage some time after the warranty expired had suffered such damage as a direct result of having been "abused" as test cars?

Something to think about--if so offered, would you buy a new "high" mileage car (e.g., 100-200 miles) if the dealer gave you a 5 year/75,000 mile manufacturer's warranty at no additional cost, with a negotiable markdown for excessive mileage?

Anything above 10-15 could also mean it was a "loaner" car. I borrowed a 2002TL and I am sure they rotate those cars out.

When I 1st saw my car it had 6 miles on it this was on a Sunday.
I did not pick the car up until Tuesdy mourning then it had 10miles. When I saw it that Sunday they had not prep the car like wash & check everything. I got my car 12/28/99. They had put the spoiler on Christmas Eve & where closed that Saturday Christmas Day. I went out Sunday to take a look at it & even started it up but it was low on fuel. The car was ready for pick up Monday but I could not get to the dealer that night. I gave them the keys to my 94 ACCORD EX 5speed & they gave me the keys to a 2000TL.

the one i test drove had 9 miles, and when we got back to the dealer, it had 15

the dealer drove the crap outta the car on the little street right out of the dealership.. it sure impressed me with the power, but man, i dont want that done to my baby~

i ended up buying from a different dealer, because of price negotiations, and the one i got was 8, which led me to believe it was still test-driven once (my test drive was 6 miles)

now, seeing how some of you got a car with 2 or 3 miles, it really makes me think mine's been driven once, but i guess once wont do TOO much

for 30 miles, i'd say it was test driven 4-5 times, and while i would PREFER a single digit car, i dont think its considered used until 3 digits

18 miles

had I known this before, I would have asked for some kinda deal!

-Tom

Addition: Those car dealers/mechanics at the dealership don't treat the TLs right. The mechanic floored mine on the way to the car wash!

That's a good question. I have found a pretty good deal on a 2002 NBP TL-S for $31,760 but it has 50 miles on it. I'm reluctant on purchasing it because on the test drives I went on, we drove really hard.

Can the people that have had tranny problems or replaced trannys give the number of miles they had on the car when they bought it?
