How Long to install dc headers?

Hey guys i need some help. i took my car to the shop today to have headers installed. dropped my car off this morning at 8 call them around 5pm to see what was going on with it. guy told me they didn't get to it till 1 and just got done taking the stock manifolds and down pipe off when i called. says the car wont be done till tomorrow but my buddy told me it would take 2- 2 1/2 hrs max. so i decided to call DC they said they can do it in 2 but most shop would take 3hrs. can someone with knowledge on this topic please give me a general time frame for header install on our cars. This guy is charging me $80/hr fell like a major major rip off

PLEASE tell me you have a quote from them with a certain number of hours (and agreed to it) , before you dropped off the car...

Don't let them charge you 4 hours for removing the stock system!

Your friend is about right. Shops would charge about 2-3 hours. With air tools and a lift, they should take about 1-2 hours.

My shop charged $250 for 3.3 hours of labor (they also installed new O2 sensors though). . .Kept my ride for 8 hours cause they had to heat up the rusty nuts several times before they came off.

Just work with them and agree on a reasonable price.

x2^. Forget about how many hours, just ask them the total cost, how much to install the header. how fast to do it is up to them unless you can't wait for a few hours.

If you are getting work done on a car, unless you trust the person really well, get a price quote before hand. if it takes more time than what they quoted too bad that is their problem. My shop installed my headers in literally an hour. I wouldnt pay more than 200 for a header install.
