How does your car act in Traffic -- Does Tranny Flutter?
Its been two weeks, and Im still in love with the car. However, I spend most of my time in traffic to and from work. Recently, I began watching the Tach and noticed that it bounces between 500 - 1000 rpm when Im in traffic. The moves well enough that the car gets into 3d gear and then back down to first. Should I be concerned that there is something wrong with the transmission? Or is it just because of the traffic patterns?
Please advise.
Thanks

I've got similar symptoms when in manual mode. If I nudge it into 5th manually, the tranny seems to lock into OD and then kick back out, w/o the gear indicator changing, usually around the 35-40 mph range. Briefly, the tach drops to just over 1,000 and then back up to about 1,500. I usually force it to 5th in slow and steady traffic. Never had any probs when shifting manually with a heavy foot.

My heart flutters in traffic just by looking at my car. Does that count?

Thank you all for your comments -- I think between the A/C, traffic driving, and the 5th gear the car was fluttering -- or more accurately, bogging down. I have found that driving in D-4 in traffic/city conditions has solved the problem. D-5 is meant for highway driving.
