Question How do you remove scratches from plastic?

I have some scratches on the plastic surrounding my keyhole (from accidentally scraping my key against it). Any ideas on how to minimize these scratches?

Thanks.

perhaps some Zaino Z14: http://www.zainobros.com/files/info.htm#anchor41368, or any other polish that's meant for plastic.

Are you talking about the ignition key hole?

It's really hard to get rid of scratches on textured plastics. You can't just buff it out; you need to recreate the textures.

I've got a small gouge on my driver's door sill piece, probably from a rock that got lodged under my shoe as I was getting in the car. Can't take it out. I guess I'll just wait for the scratches to accumulate, then buy replacement pieces some time in the future.

Heh, I have scratches around my keyhole as well.. nothing you can do but, like daverman said, buy a new piece.

Thanks for the responses.

Yes, it is the plastic around the ignition key hole. Maybe I'll check into the pricing info. I didn't even realize that I was doing it until my girlfriend pointed it out. I am pretty careful now.

The pieces you'll need are: #5, 6, and 7.

Should run you under $30 for all three.

Speaking of #7, a couple days ago I noticed it was green... time to take it apart and fix in an LED!

Cool. Looks like pretty much all my scratches are on piece #5. $30 to fix the problem is pretty cheap.
