how do you know when its time to wax?

I've been thinking its about time to wax my '02 TL, which I bought used six months ago. I've never waxed it myself, and I don't know when the last time the previous owner did.

When I washed it today, all the water was still beading up, not running off in sheets. So does that mean the current wax is still good, or do you think its a good idea to wax it anyway?

Just to be safe, I use Klasse once every two months or so. I also used it only a week after driving my car off the lot. Here are some recent pics of my 30 month old car

Sweet car!

But what if I'm lazy? How do I know when I really NEED to wax?

The way you know is sprinkle some water on it.. If the water beads up there is still some wax on it. If the water goes flat you need to wax it....

Odds are if you don't know when it was waxed and you have never done it - it's time. Since your out in Cali - you don't have to worry about a harsh winter but come Feb when the rains come you may appreciate having a fresh wax on it - What condition is your paint in ? Swirl marks and or minor scratches. You might want to consider a professional detailing. Should not cost more than 100 bucks and it will be easier for you to maintain after that.

just take your car to a detaliing place. get it washed and waxed. and if you can do the wax a least once a month. maybe longer if you have a garage. this will make your car look good and maintain it clean. do a research on each detailing place in your area and compare prices oh and go check them out and see how other cars turn out..

good luck..

Once you detail it, it becomes much easier to maintain. Just make sure you don't slack off too much so you have to detail it again in less than a year

Wax it at least once a month for that new shine. Twice if the weather is bad (eg. rain, snow, etc.).

Nice car vandy Kit that baby up!
