Depends. Trans replaced? Regular maintenance like oil, trans fluid, timing belt? Highway miles or city? Condition of the exterior, interior, engine bay. Car accidents in the past? Need more info.

Nah but really check Timing Belt cuz thats an Expensive Job and Obviously Trans Replaced at? And I would check out the owner (Ex: Granny, Kid, Miss, Etc.) if you think he wasnt careful with it then Walk-away...

But then Again its an A-SPEC!!!!

how much?
you say Kms,, do you mean K MILES or Kmeters = a canadian car in florida?
if so expect nightmares as they are not the exact same as usa car

timing belt and water pump every 100kmiles is critical,,
valve adjust and several other maitenance items probably overdue now

have any car you like inspected by a mechanic who knows that type car and its particular problems

our mega moderator has well over 450,000 MILES on his 00
swapped in a cl-s engine and 6 speed manual trans at 200kmiles
took engine apart and found almost no wear inside
still had the hone marks in the cylinders!
spends time on racetrack and hours on road every day still
and going strong

FLASHING, flashing, FLASHING !!!!!!!!

A flashing oil light is telling you to repair the oil pan's leaky bolt NOW !

Do not continue to operate the car without adding oil and fixing the leak.

oil light flashing is not good at all. that means the oil pressure isn't right. you might have a leak or levels are not right. take it to dealer and do an oil change for $35. they are good with finding all sorts of problems which you later can fix somewhere else for cheap. im not sure what an oil pan bolt is but if you are talking about the drain gasket thats a cheap $2-3 fix but requires an oil change since you have to remove it. use an aluminum ring and do not over-tighten it. honestly i would not have bought this car. the person could have driven that car with low oil for a while.

With all that on I probably would have asked the seller to take care of it beforehand. Low oil pressure is bad, as stated. If the oil drain is stripped, that is a headache. Lots of stuff will need to be replaced soon as things are probably worn out. How much did you pay for it? Any pics?

a code ck will reveal the cause of dash warning lights
parts stores do that for free
write down exactly- the codes and report back here
we can figure it out from those
codes are CLUES not diagnosis

will that car even pass state inspection? it has legal usa/state title?

that oil pan bolt may be simple or may need a new/used oil pan
but being non usa car I cant say if pans are identical!

like canada cars have daytime running lights standard,,,usa has to do a mod to wiring if we want it

good luck to you on repairs,,
immediately ck out Regions link at top of page and meet local ziners to you= for help with problems or upkeep

I did not know that about the DRL's. That's interesting. Guess doesn't really matter because I usually have my headlights on anyways.

Not sure about this, but would the transmission itself have their own set of codes for reading in a different location? Never dealt with it before (knock on wood) but I think the transmission failing would trigger those lights and it would be stored elsewhere. Hopefully someone else will chime in. I would assume all codes should have been read from the same place, but I could be wrong. GL with repairs.

Take the car to your local Acura dealership and have them check it for you, don't be cheap on this.

Did seller give you the maintenance records for the car? How do you know if bumpers were replaced?

Oil pressure light flashing is a serious issue. Leaky plug will not cause the light, unless you are losing monumental amounts of oil from it (aka, your car is low on engine oil). Take the car to the dealer, pay the diagnostics fee and find what needs to be fixed.

open the passenger front door
see the small fuse cover on end of dash--remove it
see fuse #12 or 13, marked `CLOCK`
remove that fuse for a MINUTE then insert fully

ecu has been reset- cleared all codes, and all lights should be out

ABS-brake codes need a special scanner -brake specialty shops have one

the oil change place scanner,,wouldnt trust it at all
try a parts store

dont need dealer to diagnose this stuff,,
a new oil pressure sensor, some seafoam and an oil change will do wonders to start to process

being a Canada car we cant know for sure if the readers work the same
any experts on the subject?

Could you tell us what all in the way of repairs were done by "Mr. Lube" ?
I'm beginning to think that you may've gotten lubed by Mr. Lube. Any reputable repair shop will give you a detailed list of work done and would'nt send your car out the door with the lights on.

01tl4tl has given you the easy and best method of clearing the codes and "CEL".
Have you done this with any luck yet ?

I'd recommend that if you have not already looked up underneath the car ....to do so if you have a safe way to support it while looking at the undercarriage of the car's front-end.

While at Mr. Lube, they normally have lifts which allow the mechanic to work easier. That would've been a golden opportunity for you to have asked permission to look at the problems which you paid them to work on.

So, your car is no longer leaking oil.....right ?
You've stated that the warning light is for the ABS....right ?
No other dash warning light are illuminated....right ?

I wouldn't be too concerned about the fog lamps until I was sure that the car is safe !

From Wikipedia:
Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 requires DRLs on all new vehicles made or imported after January 1, 1990. Canada's proposed DRL regulation was essentially similar to regulations in place in Scandinavia, with an axial luminous intensity limit of 1,500 candela, but automakers claimed it was too expensive to add a new front lighting device, and would increase warranty costs (by dint of increased bulb replacements) to run the low beams. After a pitched regulatory battle, the standard was rewritten to permit the use of reduced-voltage high beam headlamps producing up to 7,000 axial candela, as well as permitting any light color from white to amber or selective yellow. These changes to the regulation permitted automakers to implement a less costly DRL, such as by connecting the high beam filaments in series to supply each filament with half its rated voltage, or by burning the front turn signals full time except when they are actually flashing as turn indicators.
