HID Problem

I purchased some D2R 4300 bulbs and they finally came in.
I took off the old ones and put in the new, but only 1 side works. Passenger works, driver side does not.
I plugged both bulbs into the passenger side and they both DO work. So I know it is not the bulb.
On the left side, the connector (pictured) might be my problem?

At first, it did illuminate the bulb but just for a quick second. Now 5 minutes later, it does not even do that.
At one point I did not have a bulb connected to it and when I turned on the lights it made a buzzing sound.
Now it just does not buzz at all.

Thanks

Also, I highly doubt it is my ballast due to my lights NEVER giving me a problem until now.

Maybe a bad ignitor unit or ground problem. Perhaps you could check for power @ the connector ?

You could check the fuses, #43 & #45 both 20a. If they're ok, try swapping the L & R relays for the headlamps.

Make sure that the connectors are not corroded or loose. If you were not having any previous problems, it may be something simple. Did the affected side's headlamp burn out or was it just turning yellowish pink ?

Fuses are okay. Nothing was wrong with the affected side. I only swapped them out because I got the bulbs for cheap and just wanted a brighter/newer look.

Did you encounter any difficulty when removing the original bulbs ?
So, both of these "new" bulbs will work on the one side. Maybe try the old ones again ?

Update:
Took bumper off and took off the ballast on the side that is not working.
I got the working ballast and swapped it to the other side and I am only getting a constant buzz. There is power getting to it though.
I checked the relays aswell. Could there be a problem with my grounds connecting to the harness?

While ya have it apart, it would've been a good time to update the original HID unit with the smaller waterproof kits available for less than $100. It may be something with the inverter/ignitor ???? Doublecheck the wiring and connection.

Sounds like your ballast may be shot.

not working anymore, so i changed ballasts/igniters for new ones and the light works again but it is NOWHERE near as bright compared to my other one. The light comes on but honestly it looks really dull and personally a little "purple", my father says otherwise, but it's still no where as bright as my other headlight. Anyone know what's wrong?
Sorry for my UN-continued post above.

They have a burn in time I believe. They will get brighter after so many hours of use.

Well I've had them on basically anytime I drive and it's been about two weeks with no sign of getting brighter, do I just need to give them more time?

I think it's about 50 hours of on time if I'm not mistaken. That's a while really when you think about it.

Oh wow 50hours? Oh, looking at my other post, the new ballast/igniter isn't "new", but it is new to me. So yeah...they're used... I was thinking maybe those are dying out too. What's your opinion?

Hey DanTL-S, I'm unsure if you replaced the bulbs on both sides.......but if not, it's recommended to do both at the
same time for a uniform appearance ! Makes sense, don't worry about the ballast/ignitor as long as it's doing it's job.

Did ya get 5k replacement bulbs ?
