Idea for Car Direction, thoughts?

I have an 00 Fire Pepper Red Tl and i have been thinking what direction i want to take with the car. After searching on here and finding nothing heres what im thinking
Tinted windows (20% in the back three windows and a little bit in front two) dont wanna get pulled over for that

Drop the car (not super slammed because i dont want to rub when i pull into parking spots)

18"? Black rims that dont have too many spokes so the rotor area shows, a little deep dish look maybe?

Big ole white calipers

In my mind that sounds like a killer looking car, but i want your guys opinion on this. Would this be a good look for the car?
Thanks!

Honestly its whatever you like.
I have a FPR TL also and have been looking for some black rims aswell.
Great minds think alike!
And I would also stay under 19" after that they get a bit too ridiculous (I think).
Show us what you have so far!

does the white brembo or big calipers sound like a good idea under that though, in my head it sounds amazing but ive been told many times to consult the forum before trying anything crazy like that.

What kind of lip kit would you suggest, my big thing is not wanting it to scrape when going over speedbumps and pulling into parking spots, what kind of drop/lipkit would you reccomend for that?

I would do a red bbk behind the black wheels to accent the color of the car. Get a oem lip kit but you will have to find one used. Also I would get coilovers so you can adjust the height to where you want it at.

My personal thoughts on the tint, if you are going to do 20% in the back you may as well do 20% all the way around, it isn't as dark as you will think. I have had 15% and 5% on my past two cars and i would say that the 15% is no where near dark enough to warrant a traffic stop, hell i didn't even get pulled over for my 5%, and i had that for a little over a year! I got pulled for speeding once in the car, and all the officer said was that he reccomended that i put my front plate on because other officers will cite you for it, not a word about the tint. So in my opinion, if you are going to tint, may as well go all the way with it

Do whatever you want. You're young so enjoy it. I say make it fast and loud. Do as much of the work as you can, it's not that hard and you save a ton of money. Seek help before you attempt something you're not familiar and comfortable with. Be safe and most of all, have fun.

Sorry for late response, my only fear about doing that is in CA the amount of tint you can legally have is next to nothing in the front, the back two is whatever you want though. I dont want to give a cop an excuse to pull me over. Ive heard stories that if you go to an eye doctor and tell him you have sensitive eyes that you can get darker tint on the front in CA. Anybody know if this is true or not?

I have heard of going to the doctor for this and it can be done.
But ( I think) that if you go that route you also have to get the windshield done as well.
Honestly I have all 4 done with 20% in the rear and 35% upfront.

I dont really gather too much attention and drive nice and easy all the time.

Even just last night I passed 2 cop cars and one was stopped with me at the light and they didnt really seem to care. My reasoning is that they usually are looking for bigger issues than slightly dark front windows. But it IS a risk, its just you have to consider the' potential risk of getting caught' Vs. 'looking hella sick'

You can have NO tint on windshield and front windows unless it's factory tint. No limits on rear windows as long as you have both side mirrors.
I remember reading about the sensitive eyes thing (cuz I could really use it, during the summer I sometimes can't go outside w/o sunglasses on, otherwise I'm blinded and my eyes water) and in California, you cannot tint even with a note, you have to use a removable sun screen or whatever you want to call it.

I got my car about a month ago (Black 02 TL-S). I'm working out what I want to do, but first my plans are doing some good preventative maintenance (timing belt etc) and fixing all the small details to make it a near perfect car, slowly upgrading along the way.

Hey SpicyMayo, that really is where everyone should start before considering mods.

This is advised to be on the top of any "wish list" , if ya don't have something that's
reliable and solid to start with.....any other plan of action may be money down the drain !

thats smart, thats what i ended up having to do because shortly after i took possession of the car the tranny started acting up. Its rebuilt now though and everything else is working fine. Im going to get some new sparkplugs the NGK Iridium and have that switched out right after my oil change which i will seafoam the car before that. Ive read its a huge difference and i am looking forward to the night and day change in response and all that good stuff!

making sure maintenance is up to par would be my first issue. Then do that car as you please. I hate when people make cookie-cutter cars that just throw parts on there. What do you want out of the car? something low-slung to hit corners or something to carve corners with?

You being in cali does complicate the issue from my understanding of your silly rules they call laws out there for cars, but tint here in GA is much more lax, I've got friends running 5% all around with the front windshield 20% with no issues. As for wheels, spend some time in the gallery here & a few other "stance" websites so you can have a good idea of what options are out there. Also look into the limits of our cars fenders without rolling/pulling unless that's something you're about.

Older Legend calipers bolt right up iirc to our cars & increase braking ability but a larger improvement can be had with the RL calipers, but custom brackets are needed & are made by someone...(need to find the link somewhere)

would this look good on my car?
https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/19x8-5-35-axis-pentas-silver-879182/
or would i need a drop before even dreaming about getting them. The price makes it oh so tempting though. What are your thoughts on this?
