HID Kit Install Question

Sorry to post so many questions about my car guys. I know a lot about auto repair & maintenance but nowhere near what you guys know. I want to hang onto my TL for as long as I can so I want to make sure everything is always done right.

My driver's side low beam is out and I have moisture in the headlight housing. I'm going to get an HIDextra 6000k conversion kit, but is there a seal or something that needs to be replaced on that headlight so that moisture stays out? I was thinking that the HID kit is all I need, but is there anything else that needs to be done? Thank you very much for the help!!!

you can silicone the seal outside the lens if you want
or replace the entire housing for under 100$

the new system wont care if moisture drips out that designed hole and hits where OE ballast fit, new ballast can go anywhere and all parts are waterproof

I would not go higher than 5000k on the bulbs, I had the 6000 for a year then switched to 5s, its better

get the standard size 35 watt ballast `kit` look up by car, don't get a relay or other parts there- we don't need them,
do buy box of female connectors at parts store

don't forget the coupon codes!
call them and say member of acurazine

I am new on here as well. I noticed moisture in my right headlight 2 days after I bought it (about 2 weeks ago now). I purchased a new headlight on E-bay, $72 shipped. Took me about 1/2 hour to install. If I were you, I would get a HID kit and a new headlight and change them out at the same time. You will have the best accessability to mount the ballast with the bumper cover off. The issue I am having now is because I am OCD, my left headlight looks older than my right, which looks awesome. I will probably by a left to calm the OCD beasts in my head. It is fine, and really looks good, just doesn't look new, so I will probably sell it on here to make up some of the money for the new headlight (as I really shouldn't spend the money on something simply because of MINOR cosmetics). Anywho, you should be able to search on here and online to find out how to get your bumper cover off (if you have ownered other Honda vehicles, its pretty much the same). If you have any other issues, there are some fairly recent post from a few others who are wiring their aftermarket kits to their factory harnesess. Good luck...

if its just haze on the lens- that will buff out to like new
with the age of our cars and technology improvements in 13 years
it makes sense to replace the hid setup if you are replacing water failed housing
if you take old ballast apart it will have corrosion

there are a few install threads, one in diy for sure on the complete job from bumper cover removal to cking aim = that's important if old shocks and car sags or new shocks, lower springs etc all change the lights angle
its simple to adjust them so you get the most light and least distraction to oncoming traffic
