Hi new here buying a TL'00,question?
Hi guys its my first post here but i ve been browsing here for a while couse i have a seller and a car in site so i'm asking for your opinion. It'a 2000 TL with 84k miles with some scraches here and there but no dents and good interior with only small tear on the drivers seat leather(which i dont know the cost to fix yet),H&R springs and 18" ADR rims nice and Nitto 555 tires(3 months old),03 model rear stoplights(white and red)better looking for me,need to change the floor mats though, car runs fine and he is only owner, asking for 9,750$ but willing to negociate. What do u think guys and what should i offer him?Thanx in advance and i'll continue posting here for sure weather i buy it or not....

Just chillen..
First welcome, check couple of things, get a carfax on the VIN. Ask him about transmission problems since you are out of warranty most likely, if its the orginal tranny or new? Has it been raced with (Highly doubt if he will tell you)? Drive the car and see if transmission jerks in any gears? And I would offer it at a $9000 and under atleast.

Hi there thanks for the welcoming,i alredy drove the car today and it seams fine, the car is very stable due to the wide rims and tires and springs i guess,i'll do carfax as soon as he gets back to me couse threw him the ball at 8700$ and waiting for an answer. Also he said never a problem with tranny,i guess thats what everybody would say...about racing i guess the same...Any input?

Oh Hullow
if you dont mind dropping $100 for peace of mind... take it to acura have them run some tests on it sort of like a diagnostic... thats what i did before buying my tl... it can save u a lot of headaches in the future like i had with my previous car... (ps they only charged me 50 b.c this is the 3rd acura we are servicing with them... but reg price for that sort of thing is 100)

Got any pics of the car? I was thinkin about puttin some 18" ADR's on my TL and would like to see how they look. BTW, I just bought my 2000 TL w/75k miles (non S) for $10k even. It also had one owner, clean Carfax, and the lady kept it in very good shape. Inside was flawless. Came with new tires too. Ive heard a lot people having tranny problems too, but so far I havent had any trouble yet....Im keepin my fingers crossed though. good luck.

Spend the money and get a PPI done. It doesn't have to be at the dealer; any reputable repair shop can complete. Also, since it is the original owner, make sure you get all service records. 84k is about average for the age of the vehicle, but is worth crap if regular maintenance hasn't been done.
