Question Hey Snook...Spring question

Im looking to change springs to lower the car a bit... I see the comptechs are on B/O....plus, being in the midwest, they might lower the car a bit more than I would like for the winter. Im thinking about the H&R OE springs as an alternative. What has your, (or anyone elses) experience been with them? Thanks for any info....... :p

I think I may be one of the only ones with these springs... probably the main reason I wanted them was to make the profile of the car more level. I didn't like how the back end was higher than the front. They dropped the car about .5-.75" in the front and .75-1.0" in the back. I have nothing but good things to say about these springs as far as ride and handling. One thing to keep in mind though; if you like the way the car looks with the Comptech's, these springs are probably not right for you. These will make the car level, not raked, and it will not be as low. Handling is very much improved, ride is firmer but not bumpy.

Re: Hey Snook...Spring question

Don't need snook for this, just get coilovers. They are heigh ajustable, so in the summer you could lower them up to 4" then in the winter you could put it back to stock in a matter of minutes.

... i love how some people voice there opinions...if a coilover can be lowered 4 inches than the spring MUST be stiff enough for the maximum drop... i have the o.e's and love them 1.0/1.25

Thanks for the responses....I asked my dealer about installing the springs and they quoted 5 hours at $80/hour..... I thought that was a bit steep...will check with my personal mechanic and see what he might charge..... Again...thanks for the responses...

Park Ave Acura in NJ (which is where I would go) charge $220 for installation which is about 3 hours @ $73.50 an hour. I think your dealer is ripping you off considering they're charging you almost double Park Ave's prices. I wouldn't pay more then $250 for the install.....

Re: What are the effects?

Is basically the same. Spring have a fixed height. Coilovers can be ajusted to a range in height, for example 0" to 5".
