this story may be helpful to some people who think hydrolock is impossible unless driving through several feet of water. I have an aem cai with no bypass installed by me The car was alittle dirty and, I didn't feel like washing it myself after the install. I drove it to mikes carwash and, put it in neutral and shut off the engine because I was paranoid. Carwash completed... crossed fingers... started car and all was right with the world. I said to myself... hydrolock is bs. I pulled out on to a two lane road and opened her up, and every light on our instrument panel lit up like the 4th of july. Car stalled and I imediately pulled over and let it run for about 10min. Car drives great now, so I don't think any permanent damage was done. So if you have a cai... don't gun it after carwash. Sorry for the novel.

Hydrolock is when you suck water into the engine and it goes bang. If the car was off, the worst that could have happened was the filter got wet. It's possible you sucked some water in causing the warning lights to go on but you did not hydrolock.

Sorry but thats not hydrolock. Not even close. I would inspect your plastic guards if water got to the filter. It shouldnt in a car wash. Mine stays bone dry in carwashes, even with underbody flushes

My buddy is a manager at a Soft Touch carwash and he always does my car for free. I always leave it running when it goes through and have never had a problem like this .
