You will probably pay somewhere in the area of 28 bucks at the dealer. If you have the know how, do it yourself for about 15, and you can actually use good oil, not the crud they put in. Not sure of the price on the tranny, should be somewhere in the area of 50 bucks I'm guessing.

no need for a tranny flush until around 20K-25K. youre tranny is going to go regardless of a flush. the tranny defects have something to do with the tranny itself, not the fluid.

I get mine done at the dealer. I got an extended warranty with my used 99TL and my dealer gives me every other oil change free as long as I keep going there. It's about $29.00 when I get charged so about 15bucks on average. See if your local dealer does the same.

I just paid $23.95 at Acura at Oxmoor. They also washed the car and cleaned the interior which usually costs me $10 at the local carwash. So the net cost of oil change and filter was $13.95.

Everything cost me about $150 at Park Avenue. The labor rate was 90 bucks, everything else was the oil, filter, washer ($0.25). And I think that was it. I'm doing it myself next time and I'll come back for the 15K service.

I would not recomend using jiffy lube. There are too many horrer stories with them such as leaving the oil plug loose or leaving the oil cap off. Stick with the dealer or do it your self.

I always get service such as oil change done at dealership.
The general price I paid was about $15 to $23 at the same dealership for oil change only. When you go to the same dealership they send coupons for parts or service such as oil changes by E-mail or regular mail. There is no need to get your trans fluid changed at your current mileage. I agree with TLover8888 the 20K-25K for the Tranny Flush is a good time.
I got mine done at around 22,500 miles as my TL has low mileage on it. I had the 30,000 mile service done at 22,500 miles doing the spring of this year. Now I have about 29,600 miles on the car & it will be 3years old in a few weeks.

taestee,

I live in Atlanta too, and I usually go to Acura Carland, right next to gwinnett place mall. They usually are stingy though, so if I had any repair work needed, I'd probably take it to Nalley Acura in Roswell, off Cobb Parkway. Your closest dealer is Ed Voyles on peachtree industrial - but they have been known to be a little higher priced. Best bet is Nalley. When I had my Infiniti, I always got it done at the dealer, because the quality of the oil filter was much better than that a jiffy lube, and actually, I always got coupons in the mail, so jiffy lube turned out to be more than the dealer!

Got my oil changed at the dealership this week. They drained the engine but forgot to fill it back with oil. Drove it out into heavy traffic and light goes on and it stalls, next starts making a horrible sound. Go back to the dealer they take it to the back & come back and tell me it has 3 quarts of oil in it. Taken several days but they finally admitted it had no oil. I have researched this and spoken with several acura mechanics around the US. My engine is probably ruined & all the guys I spoke with said they change the oil in their personal cars themselves-that way they know exactly what was done.

Bottom line-take it to a mechanic you personally know or do it yourself. The dealer basically takes no responsability for much unless you get legal counsel. Good Luck

You are so right-thanks for the help. Didn't mean to upset the guy so bad by posting on an old thread. I hope he ignores anything else I type from now on!!

Said that they cannot obtain a new motor, as said on the original thread I think they will give me a Fred Flinstone tape with techniques on how to drive without an engine! I got my documentation & an extremely stupid letter from dealership. Tried to deal with them but now am getting legal counsel. I really didn't want to do this since alot of my family are lawyers and I HATE ligitation=but I don't think that really matters to them. They have been basically bored or nobody available to talk with me since this started this includes the corp.-who I called this morning and they can get back to me in 24 to 48 hours. True customer service. Really sad part is I was just getting ready to purchase an MDX because love the TL and have been working with a salesman for about a week. Guess I need to look for a new dealership.

I would find a different dealer after this ordeal. Ind its BS that they cant obtain a new motor. Id contact legal advise and advise the dealer that you are in contact with a lawyer.

And once you commit to them that you have legal counsel- the service dept or any manager cannot speak to you any more- which they dont want to do anyway- its all got to go the the lawyers at that point, and you can believe they have a set on retainer!

If you want to- try full value of your car plus 2500 compensation mental anguish-then buy the mdx like you were going to

I go to Ed Voyles on P'tree Ind. - good service, about $35 if i remember, they give you a coupon each visit though. They usually wash the car too. I always take advantage of the amenities too (Starbucks coffee, bottled wateer, tea, wifi, 60 in plasma, etc.).
I have always received really good service there...

Good luck with the lawyers and getting compensated.
I don't see why you wouldn't, you went in for a oil change and they forgot to put in oil which in turn destroyed your motor.
Clean them out so they make sure they don't do it again
