Help wanted, advise within!!

So i am getting ready to get the AEM V2 CAI.

I guess first and foremost, IS THIS A GOOD BUY OR IS THERE A BETTER CAI?

Second, I have noticed some websites saying that there is a difference in CAI for the TL & TL-S, IS THERE A DIFFERENCE?

Thanks for the help!

First off the V2 is a DAMN good CAI. It's probably the best on the market. It's a little bit loud, but gives very good gains.
Second I don't think that they make the V2 for the Type-S.

I can't speak to the V2 directly, but my first CAI was an AEM and the weling bracket broke off in about 6 months. YMMV.

Thanks,

Joe

I have seen the V2 discriptions indicating its for the TL-S, but i havent been able to get pictures to compair the two of them to see the difference.

I guess this leads to the question of, DOES ANYONE HAVE A TL-S AND A VE CAI?

comptec cai

i would say that unless you want the look of a modded car (cai piping under your hood) and the sound of a more aggressive engine, i would opt for the comptec icebox instead. its much quieter and will attract less attention from the police when accelerating at full throttle.

it adds a subtle growl at vtec which wasnt there prior and does provide some good hp boost.

whats the use in modding a car to make it fast when you cant use that power on the streets. i guess im just paranoid of getting pulled over by the police and having my insurance go through the roof. i perfer to travel fast, just not sound like it!

next mod....... headers!
then im done, damn it!
or maybe a rear sway bar afterwards,
then possibly.........

it never ends

I have the AEM V2 on my car and it is amazing. I love it. It is a very good buy, you can get it for around $270. There is a difference in CAI for the TL-P and the TL-S. The V2 is only available for the TL-P presently. The reason there is a difference b/w the 2 cars is that the throttle body on the TL-S is about 1/2 inch larger.

well that sucks that they dont have one for the TL-S since i have heard good things.

What would be the next best thing, just a regular AEM CAI?

AEM or ICEBOX. they both make just about the same hp, the aem will be louder and give the sound that alot like. the icebox looks like factory and isnt much louder than stock
