Got the recall done....

I picked up my car last night. It was in getting the recall done for the tranny and an oil change. When i got home and turned off the car i heard a wierd clanking noise under the hood. I won't mention the smell of oil from the excess that dripped on the headers...i guess its hard to use a funnel

Anyway, the noise happened when i turned off the car. I had my gf hold the lamp for me and turn the car off while i was under the hood. It seems my CAI had been moved and wasn;t mounted back correctly. Now....why would it be moved? do they need to move it to get to something for installing the oil jet kit? I just want to know to put my mind at ease so i can enjoy my ever slipping tranny

they need to remove it to install the oil jet kit. the jet kit goes in the factory tranny fill hole. there is also a different pipe they ned to install that has "T" on it for the jetkit.

yeah, whenever my transmission had work done on it the intake was always moved a little. Just get a rubber sleeve and put it on the intake pipe. When it bangs it wont make any noise.

The thing that bothers me is that it wasn't banging before i brought it in . I'll just have to reseat it myself. I don't mind doing it but when Acura charges $98 an hour for labor they should do a PERFECT job. Granted, it was warranty work, so i didn't pay, but Acura Corporate does (i'm sure not that astronomical rate) but its principle. Oh well...u know what they say..if you want it done right you should do it yourself. Shitty motto, but its the truth
