help with trans!!!!

how much are those o6-07 accord trannys. i bought my type s at 156,000 and the tranny does a jerk from second to third when cold while driving at a normal slow pace. switches smooth when warmed up. shes now at 159,000 as of today. i had engine replaced at 158,500 at acura. new engine has 80,000 miles on her and now im just worried about the trans. its not original trans either. trans got replaced at 105,000. does that rough switch from second to third when cold mean my trans is about to give out? the color of the fluid is still bright red

Nope if its not slipping it doesn't mean a bad trans.. A rough shift can mean = Bad Mounts or Time to Replace ATF.

If you read the tranny FAQ, rough shifts while cold are not really a sign of a bad tranny.

As long as it smooths out when warm, should be fine.

If ya recently had the motor replaced.....especially by Acura, one would only hope that they replaced the mounts if they were faulty. Check your receipts and talk to the service manager where the motor was installed.

If unsure, just do a drain & fill of the tranny fluid on your own. Check out the many threads and DIY sticky for more info.

3x3 is straight forward..

Drain and Fill
Drain and Fill
Drain and Fill

Give a week between each D&F and DONE! The best service you can do for your trans yourself.

There is a single Square bolt below the trans for your ratchet to sit in.. Remove the Bolt to drain the fluid.
On top of the trans there is a GIANT Bolt with "ATF" on it, fill there.
