HELP! Tranny Died.. what to do!
Hey guys,
I was driving home and I noticed that the car started to slipp from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. When I was a block away, the tranny gave out.. and all my lights showed up! man.. its suxs....... so what should I do? The messed up thing is i'm at 100,200 miles.. it suxs! freaking tranny blows right after 100,000 miles. Will I still be covered under warranty? if not, how much would it cost me at a local bodyshop. And I have another problem... the closes acura dealership is about 70 miles around. I'm stuck in Purdue, which is like in the middle between Indy and Chicago, and theres no Acura dealership here. I hope someone can help me out... arghhhhhhhhhh..

Yea.. i really hope so. I was wondering, should I take it the one indy or the one in chicago? Also, do you think it'll be okae to drive it? I can tow it, but i really dont' trust the towing companies in my area. They towed one of my roomates car, and busted his front bumper, and for my other roommate, the guy scraped his front left side's fender and door. So yea.. a little hesitant about towing but if i have to, i will.

agreed, call the dealer you normally go to or would go to and advise them of your situation. they should cover you since you are so close to the limit. (i got mine covered at 115k)
If its dead i wouldnt try to drive it. it may leave you stranded somewhere else or worse

I called them, and they said to call customer services and to say to put it under goodwill. So i'm going to do that, but I have one question. Do you think they'll still cover it with my mods on the car? you know.. my coilovers?

You should be fine with your mods. They have to prove that your mods would have caused a problem with the rest of the car. Plus you made it too 100K that is awsome.

Yea they will more than likey cover it. If not...then more then likely they will atleast cover the parts and you will pay labor which still sucks, but its better than nothing. We do the same at our dealership. Some months, if sales and service is low, then they will be tight asses and only cover parts. If you have been getting your car serviced at a dealer a lot and have an extensive service record with them, they will more than likely goodwill it.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Hey guys, Thanks for all the input. The car is at the dealership in Indy, at Ed Martin's Acura, anyone have any experience with them? They said they will run a diagnosis on the car today... and let me know if its a tranny problem. They said if its a tranny problem, Acura will most likely cover it. I hope everything works out.
