help with security for car

Ight so here's the setup. My apartment in MD is in the ghetto and last night ma cousin got his BRAND new system stolen for the second time. I have a tv, subs and door speakers. I already have the clifford matrix 2.5. The 2-way one, buts its the basic package. What can I do to add to this alarm that will make the car safer. Window sensors? Hood locks? Trunk locks? Anything and EVERYTHING that will work. Any ideas?? I'm in ny rite now, I want a good installer for it as well. It was oringinally installed at best buy and they suck. So I wanna have it redone with more sensors and the works. Thanks

The following is a must: hood lock, backup siren with battery, relocate sirens under the wheel well, pager, piezo sirens (aka pain generators) inside the passenger compartment, blinding strobe lights. If you got the money for it, get a GPS tracking device - if your car gets stolen (towed), the cops can track it anywhere across North America.

i would just move to like the suburbs, because nice cars, and not nice localities, dont seem to be in the future for you at this moment. right now i am doing a search site for an attack glove box animal of some type to recommend.

Piezo sirens (or commonly known as pain generators) create a high pitch sound that is extremely painful to the ears (hence called pain generators). You can't sit inside the car unless you are totally deaf, have hearing problems, or got ear plugs on. They can be installed anywhere away from view, like under the dash for example. Same with strobe lights - under the dash, under the seat. With pain generators and strobe lights going off, it will be almost impossible for a thief to rip off your screens and head unit.

Here's another option: I've read about it, but don't know really how safe (or practical) this is. You could have gas canisters rigged up to your alarm system. Alarm goes off, and the canisters spew out white smoke. If a thief can't see what he's stealing, he can't take it. Of course, this would be a nightmare for you if you had to deal with a false alarm. There is probably a way to get around the falsing, but would require your alarm technician to be very imaginative and brainy to set something like this up.

Here are a couple of ideas,

506T Audio Sensor - detects breaking glass and metal on glass.

507T Digital Tilt Sensor - can detect one degree of tilt. Protects against theft of wheels or the towing of your car.

509U Ultrasonic Sensor - detect a change in air pressure in the car. Great for when a door or trunk opens.

GPS1 Tracking Unit - not only lets you track the car but will let you know when the cat move 150 feet or when someone breaks in. No matter how far from the car you are. Plus you can control the alarm from your phone or on the internet.

520T Battery Backup - keeps the alarm working when the car battery goes down and has a recharge circuit. A MUST!

Make sure your alarm LED is easy to see. Most dumbass crooks won't attempt on a car when they see it has an alarm. I have mine in the side mirror panels on both sides of the car.
