Help with Philips Ultinon HID's????

Hi, I'm looking at getting a pair of Philips Ultinon 6000k's for my 1999TL. Are D2S bulbs the right ones to get? Also, if I trade up to a 2003 TL this year, would these D2S bulbs still fit in that? Thanks!!

:edit: Basically, will this auction work with our cars?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

You need D2R bulbs. D2S are for projector type headlights.

You need D2R, but D2S can work with some modification to the bulb.

Lol, I have no idea what you just told me. You told me to get these ones because they are better than the Philips ones...but these are the Philips ones, please rephrase.

how could they look better, 6000k is 6000k..

oh and half the price prolly equals to half the quality.. phillips are well known to be great bulbs...

also like others said, 1999-2003 TLs use D2R bulbs

even though both bulbs shine 6000K, different companies have different shades of color. just because they have the same output, doesnt mean it'll have the exact same color. the creators dont make it the same exact way

You need D2R type bulbs not d2s.. D2S can be used, but you will be blinding others.
Unfortunately, I don't have 6000k ultinons..
Thanks AustNMike.

Oh thanks! Try doing a google on HID bulbs. I bought mine from www.plasmagarage.com but they are EAGLE EYE, not Phillips brand. I didn't install mine yet. I know others bought it from www.hidking.com and Krazy_Tl (sp?), a member here works at a place that sells HID's.

I wish I had bought Phillips.

You know who might have the info on modifiying these? I have blacked out headlights. I need more light for driving. I guess d2s would brighten things up.

I've tried "D2S" its too short to do a search. I figured someone might read this and show me the right place. Thanks anyways.

I know that alot of users on the board have switched to 6000K bulbs and for some reason I thought that most people were switching to Phillips...maybe not. For those of you who switched, where can I find Phillips 6000k d2r's or any other nice name brand, preferrably under $300 for the pair. I tried searching but d2r is not enough letters to search. Thanks!

Look at the RED arrows in pic. round section is located in opposite side. simply make one on d2s where D2R is supposed to have. Then problem solved.

I try to carry 6000k d2r/d2s bulbs, but they are pretty hard to get.
The best place to find them would be www.xenonfactory.com.
I think their price is below $300.
